I sometimes wonder where SH12RYN (feel free to look up) gets it’s mots done, has under 20k on the clock but always a huge list of pointless advisories Rear ALL THE REAR WINDOWS ARE TINTED

Hi @Schaefft, sorry I missed this, I supplied a bumper from an e39 that was being broken at a scrapyard. The body shop said this would be cheaper than fixing the existing bumper which had got damaged. Once the front alpina splitter id written about earlier arrived the bodyshop then painted both the splitter and bumper at the same time and fitted it. This worked out at around the £250 mark but difficult to say as the final bill was more as other jobs incl fitting those new headlights were done at the same time. I imagine if you didn’t have a front splitter to paint/fit it would be less £

Autoshite's official for sale/wanted thread
Petrolize replied to Slartibartfast's topic in AutoShite
B6 shape Audi A4 tailgate wanted, ideally in dolphin grey - like this picture Also still trying to sell a set of BMW E34 BBS alloys, 5 stud, from late 80s/early 90s 5 series, open to an offer by PM as thinking about weighing them in which is a shame - thanks -
Looks a good buy, the interiors are always a nice place to be. I have a set of these with recent tyres if you’d ever like a set in the style of those above

37.5K mile Peugeot 406, seems to have had the same owner from nearly new until recently, clean MOT history too, and I think is genuine. If anyone on here buys this please let me know, I'd be interested in it at a later date for sure: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/849457749669427/?referralSurface=messenger_lightspeed_banner&referralCode=messenger_banner

Maybe get in touch and see if the owner would ever sell the car, he may just say no. If they say yes I am sure someone on the forum would take the car on.
-
That’s a pity, the owner seemed to be an enthusiast, the car was featured in a magazine. Are you nearby the garage it’s abandoned at?
-
Thanks for people’s help on this, managed to get the bits I wanted fitted and painted a couple weeks ago, new headlights fitted at the same time. The BMW badge has since been put on again!

I’ve done nearly 2000 miles in this now! Glad I ended up buying the car as some parts that were due to be fitted to my BMW E39 early this month have only just turned up. The cars still waiting at a bodyshop getting some work done. Drove all around Skye a few weekends back but didn’t take many pictures of the car, it’s still a bit scruffy for my liking and I’ve resisted spending any money improving the car, even if the potentials there. Will have to think about selling in the coming weeks to pay the bodyshop for work on the E39 and free up space. I’d be tempted to try another at some point though, however I’d maybe get a Golf mk5 GTI 2.0 TFSI of the same age in solid red.

This is a 5 min walk from me, but I’m not brave enough to spend actual money on it. If anyone wants the car let me know, it’s got great potential and only had 2 owners, e300 diesel auto https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/mercedes-benz-300d-e-class-w124/1437317975?utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_ios&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_social

Thank you, I was wondering how to get the white bits of the seats clean! I don’t think I’ll get it remapped, it has an performance air filter and may already be mapped, but since it’s not gonna be a keeper won’t be spending money on things like that just now.

They already are! Turned on the 6CD changer and they played at full blast. I was very surprised they were manual in the back aswell but one thing less to go wrong.

Before, it was actually worse then it looks After, still not great but gave myself an hour and a bit to do what I could in the time. Freebies Plus a few pictures of the outside as I quite like the way it looks

I admit the car was a bit of a red flag. Problem today is whilst cleaning it the radio stays on and let’s put a horrible pulsating noise through the whole car every so often. Should I start it and see if that resets things. Locking and unlocking central locking made no difference
-
I think it’s because the car was registered June 2006, had it been a couple months earlier in 2006 would maybe have been less £
-
That blue would’ve been my choice on one of these aswell but the silver does at least give the car more of a sleeper’ look. Tax looks like £330 a year, ouch! Guess £28 a month is bearable given it’ll only be two months - the same site I just used to check the tax helpfully pointed out 61 days of MOT!

Thank you for the encouragement! Will take some better photos tomorrow depending on the weather

At the moment I’ve far too many cars, a BMW E39 that I did toy with selling but given I’ve known the car most of its life and know what a good an example it is decided to keep, plus 530d and manual is a rare combination. I’ve also an MOT-less BMW E30 and a campervan which have hardly had the chance to get used. Yet have added another car to the list today, purely on a whim as it was cheap and local, a rough but ready Skoda Octavia VRS. Are these any good, it’s the 2.0 petrol version. The dash lights up like a Christmas tree but does still drive well. Has some kind of air intake and performance exhaust, certainly sounds nice upon startup. My vague thoughts are running it until the MOTs almost out in mid August, but whatever happens (and I’m writing this on here so I don’t go back on my word) really don’t want to do another test as it’ll certainly fail, none of the lights seemed to go out with my basic code reader, plus theres a crusty section on one of the sills.

Thought I was seeing things when I saw a Mk1 Laguna estate followed by a clean Rover 600 drive past me a month or two back. Turns out it was part of a cheap car rally! The cars now for sale on the Rover 600 Facebook owners page after a trip around Scotland. Price is £750 with a new MOT. If anyone’s interested the page is private but you could probably join the group or I can pass on the owners contact details.

Thanks all, should be ordering this shortly https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284264976915?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=T4t2TIy9TmK&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=kXOYpLksTXW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Very hard to get a bodyshop that doesn’t mind working with these after market type parts.

I’ve seen a late 2001 BMW 5 series (E39 shape) I like the look of but just wondering what parts I’d need to buy and where to find the bits to put on my own car. Mines a 2000 E39 SE so must be a similar car before the modifications. One difference is circular foglights, mine are more square. The car seems to have a different bumper at the back, different number plate holder at the front, rear spoiler and front splitter, I’m told some of the bits are possibly alpina and the bit on the rear bumper (circled) is zender. Thanks all

Yes it’s strange, it was sold cheap with quite a short mot and possible coolant issue to someone else in Scotland who was maybe going to put an S3 engine in it.
