The Astra single point inj "high torque" 60 PS engine is a bit of a slug, I always preferred the 82 PS multi point inj engine which came with the higher trim levels. In practice the 82PS had similar fuel consumption and had a bit of zing to it.

My God, ebay is really plumbing new depths of shit this week. From the 'period style' Roller to the Aston lookalike Cougar to the Veyron made of wob to the Porsche-eyed Beetle to that Astra thing, just when I think I've seen it all along comes something else that takes things to a whole new previously undiscovered level of pure unadulterated shittiness. I'm really starting to worry about the state of our society.

Let me restore your faith in humankind.

It's a struggle to think of anything more dour to drive than a Mk3 Astra.

I'd recommend an Avensis.

I'm sure that Samara is one that was in that abandoned dealership along with the Rover 800 and mk2 Astra for years and years. If I had a towbar on my car I'd have great difficulty to not buy that!!!

My desire to keep the Sirion has been dealt a blow. This is up for just £220!

Ooof. Thats a bit of alright. Could quite fancy myself a mk3 Astra, preferably a Cesaro with 1.4 for tax cheapness.

That needs buying :)

That 9000 is lovely, I've had a 9000i of the same vintage with I replaced with a 9000s. Very comfy, and handsome cars.

I wonder if it's people who over optimistically assumed they'd get it done for show season, having a reality check?

Why they think anyone else would take on their vision of loveliness, for any sort of money, is beyond me though.

A couple of years back I used to see a Mini pickup and a Fiesta done as ratty baby Bigfoot conversions around here. Both had the same hand behind them, improbably big wheels, shit load of positive front camber and purple and green camouflage. There was modded early LR looked to be from the same stable.

I used wonder where the hell they got the MOT's done then one day I saw large blond girl discussing the finer points of the construction and use regulations with a traffic cop. I never saw either car again.

I bet we've had this but I literally cba to trawl through the pages I missed since I last looked in here.

5 year old pictures taken on a Kodak Blurromatic of a car rescued from the scrapyard now wearing a selection of beige panels, apparently.  It has the wrong engine for me to lust after it.

Please, no best price M8 gr8 4 dr1fting type emails- I would like people to view and drive it and I welcome any test drives.
Please remember she is 26 years old so if you're into shiny new cars, with eco or bluemotion written on them, then maybe this isn't for you.

I wouldn't mind smoking around in this.

I actually owned one of these for about an hour about 10 years ago, long story short I swapped a R21 Turbo for one from a geezer off Loot. After a school boy error on my part and not checking the v5 properly (it was listed as a Quattro Turbo LOL) I think it was nicked. I called the geezer back expecting him to be gone like the wind and he says he was about to ring because this Renault is "shit" so we swapped back, phew.
