Christ on a tricycle, someone kill that Ferraryenne with fire. And this page was going so well, too.

Do you think he is struggling to insure it because of its past? Hence the sale.

Somehow the Bentley Drivers Club badge on that 760 fills me with confidence. Perhaps we should all get them to stick on sales cars to impress other gullible idiots like me.

I've only had one Volvo. It was absolutely fucked in every way.

Sold it to a Bentley driver.

There I was thinking that the Porsche was one of the most hideous lash ups I have ever seen in my life but half way through the listing he has put my mind at ease:

FULLY FUNCTIONAL STEERING WHEEL

I'm sold.

*edit* I just noticed he is called MercedesForTheLadies. I think I linked to his Merc on the 1000 SEL thread yesterday:

Vantagefield-RangeRover-6wheelerMerc-01.

No that's not my old 14, it ended up being banger raced, the suspension was held together by rust.

I think someone one here imported it though.

Why couldn't this turn up six weeks ago!!

I am definatley going to get myself another.

That 14 was one I brought over last year. The guy selling it is a serious Renault fan and his 4 restoration is stunning. He isn't looking for a lot of money but as I sold it for about 1200 I expect he would like that back, he does want a good home though. The trouble with 14's is that lots of people will say they want one but when it comes to getting their wallet out they all disappear as I found out. I did spot my Hotchkiss made it onto the tat thread a few pages back. I have been surprised with the complete lack of interest it generates even though I am not really trying to sell it at the moment just using up the advertising space

I had a very nice '79 14TL that I passed on to RegieRitmo. They look great - especially if you remember seeing them first time round. But in all honesty, they're just a bit dull.

Well we will have to agree to disagree on that ;)  :P . I found driving my 14 one of the most fun experiences I had I constantly had a smile on my face when I was driving it. It was my first LHD car though so maybe that was part of the reason!

It was nippy and the body roll was hilarious and with a gear knob that came of in your hand it was anything but dull. I also found it to be a competent and practical everyday car.

Well I definately want another, a tidier one than my last one and this time I will definately waxoil it.

Unfortunately I don't have £1200 (don't have £200 atm)!

This thing appears to be made almost entirely out of wob, but is cool nonetheless.  These are actually quite a pleasant thing to drive for a 40-year-old van.

Woof! I had one exactly like this (even down to the bunk bed material). This is 'pre-facelift' - the grille is in three sections (outer two plastic, middle one steel with the 'TOYOTA' script in separate letters) instead of the single full-width pressed steel jobbie that came along the next year.

Yep - nice to drive - column gear change is lovely.

Mine was equally full of wob. I found this out as I was welding the initially 'detached' rear inner arches back to the outer ones. When I rolled out from under the van a huge slab of filler the size of a coffee table top and an inch thick was merrily burning away up the side of the van. While it was still warm I peeled it off a chunk at a time.

That cortina is nice but that auto box really is shit. It's like having a gorgeous girlfriend that's got a bread bin instead of a front bottom. Pleasant to be with but ultimately dissapointing and extremely frustrating .

Do these use the same 3 speed auto as found in the Sierra?

Sounds like mine was just too up together :)

I think it maybe just felt a bit 'modern' for me. I came to it from a Renault 10, 12 and 30. The R14 was so far ahead of its time - even now it looks much newer than a 1976 design - nearly flush glass and gutter-less roof for example. Side-on it's not far off the profile of the Pug 306. It would be a perfectly usable small hatchback today - maybe I just wasn't looking for one of those at the time? :)
