eBay tat volume 3.

Nope. XJS was fuel injection from the start. HE meant mainly cylinder head changes (and some other tweaks) to improve efficiency.

Yep, I had a 1980 which was pre-HE and it had Bosch D Jetronic as used on the VW Type 3, Type 4 and early '70s Volvos.  You can peel back some of the Lucas stickers to find Bosch ones underneath.

The D Jetronic has an electronic (well, electric) brain rather than the later ones which were more mechanical.  The Bosch system could be scaled for different engines, with its method of firing injectors in pairs.  A 4 cylinder engine fired two injectors at a time, a 6 cylinder fired 3 injectors at a time.  The V12 fired 6 injectors at a time so not a huge fuel saving over carbs, just easier starting hot or cold.

Astonishingly pointless detail on that MG ad. What part of that is of benefit to anyone willing to take on the old tub in 2014?

I'd be happy just to have that rotting on the drive. I could tell everybody I'd got an SM but without all the trauma and expense of actually driving it. It would probably cause a little upwards blip in property values in my street too.

I bet that Lincoln's is one of the one's they brought over to film the captain america film. I'm there was a big auction a few years ago that sold them all off.

the Ford truck has an hour left to run, bidding at £1500. Thought it would be higher than that, are Model T owners around the country all working out which sniping site works best?

Let's hope some moron doesn't turn it into this sort of thing:

Apparently you could buy it for £600, dismantle it and sell for £1800.

"front springs were chopped down for a laugh drives fairly well and cheap enough to replace if your into that thing"

"runs and drives in both directions "

auction ends today just before 6

2% of the number of strings and weighs less than 1% of junkman's piano, yet many times the price. Lesson - make violas, not pianos. Fewer cats to kill, too.

Military chassis will make gearbox swap easier. Tax exempt too, with LPG conversion. Still under £700, ends 21.24 today.

I emailed the seller about this as it's very close by and seems insanely cheap for a taxed and tested 12 year old car but having seen the prices they go for I'm not so sure now.  He's yet to respond to confirm if it's kettled itself or not.  If it has I might just be tempted to make an insulting offer and pop my headgasket-mending cherry.

Mind you, those wings look pretty grotty.  He has a P-plate 200 1.6 in the same colour for the same price.

turn a Model T into a Model A? lots of welding...

FWIW, T's don't seem to have any value over here. I know of a few that have come over complete and been broken up for parts, and made twice the US cost.

The descriptive title pulled me in.

This is now for sale due to my wife not liking it

"but I named it after you!"

If you are after a Rover 25 one of my customers in Taunton is giving up driving and selling her 25. It's a W reg with just 43000 miles. Passed the mot a couple of weeks ago and had a  few months tax as well. She had the cambelt done last year along with a minor service and has only done about 800 miles since. I am sure she would let it go for £300
