I know, even the speedo needle's faded to pink.

A friend once had a Renault 12 where the speedo needle had curled up like Aladdin's slipper. :lol:

Couple of ebay finds to balance out my recent off-topic ramblings:

Nothing could be a better fit for the modern age of austerity. On the plus side, that's got to be worth some serious $$$ on the weighbridge.

Paint the wheels and have yourself a bargain at the price it appears to be going for, I thought these were worth a lot more money. Looks like a good one.

Just to finish off, I had no idea there were any of these left. Stupid question of the day then: What exactly was the different between a Viceroy, a Royale and a Senator? They seem to tread on each other's toes.

You could be just like the Fall Guy with this GMC Sierra pickup!

I'll be completely honest, you won't get Heather Thomas in here until you've tidied up a bit

That great sales patter will have newbies flocking to the world of complex Citroen ownership. "Last MOT and Service cost £2000!".

Viceroy is a 'posh' Carlton. Senator is bigger. Royale is a coupe Senator. Monza is the Opel version of the Royale

Didn't Vauxhall do Royale's in saloon and coupe? These were basically rebadged Opel Senators and Monza's .... The days when Vauxhall and Opel were different* brands.

Pretty sure they did. Pretty ridiculously confusing overall!

Ahh, only ever seen a Royale Coupe. Lets just throw in Opel Reckord, Commador and Ascona. Riddle me that.

Viceroy has the longer front end to take the 6-pot engine, but the 'ordinary' carlton arse end. Senator has a longer arse end on it.

Anyone want to guess what the problem with this Renault Espazz AUTOMATIC is?

'SINCE I LISTED THE CAR I HAVE BEEN ASKED WHAT THE SOUND THE ENGINE MAKES IS LIKE..... NOW DONT LAUGH OR TAKE THE P*** BUT THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT IS......REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE A KID AND YOU PUT A STICK IN YOUR REAR SPOKES TO MAKE IT SOUND LIKE A MOTORBIKE!!!!'

'Now the engine gets noisy if I use high revs??????? Cant afford to get it looked at'

+

'I have parked it at the local workshop and I reckon if you give the mechanic a bell (Lee 07445437339) he can tell you the Bobby Moore!!'

=So Lee's looked at it, told you it was shagged and you're getting rid before it explodes.

Blacker than black Alfa 155, I fucking love this.... 8)

Every time you try to operate one of these weird black controls, which are labeled in black on a black background, a small black light lights up black to let you know you've done it.

2x Thema LS's, spares/repair, £250 each

MEGA BARG. LS were series 3 and top of the range, same spec as my old one, awesome motors.

Be quick before they get bummed for their engines to be put in Integrales.

Carlton = Rekord

Viceroy = Commodore

Senator = Senator

Or.....

Opel Rekord 1978-84 sold as VX Carlton - 4 pot 2 litre, 2 windows each side.

Opel Commodore sold as VX Viceroy - 6 pot 2.5 with longer front end, but still using the 2 window side plan of the Carlton/Rekord.

Opel Senator 1978-83 sold as VX Royale saloon - 6 pot 2.8 or 3 litre with the longer front, plus different rear section incorporating an extra set of windows behind the rear doors.

Opel Monza 1978-82 sold as VX Royale coupe, as above but with fastback body.

When GM facelifted the whole range in 1984 the UK got the VX Carlton but not the Opel Rekord, the Viceroy/Commodore were dropped and the VX Royale name was dropped and the saloon became the Vauxhall Senator and the coupe was sold as an Opel Monza.

Clear as mud huh? :lol:
