Can't remember the last time I saw one though, hope someone saves it.

I actually (honestly) really like that (sans roof rack though) but I know my missus would hate it (cos it's a 'wedge' shaped thing) and then she'd sent me to Coventry for having four cars between two of us (and just what is wrong with that?)

Anyways - here's another with a (maybe) borked gearbox: 2007 E280 with MOT: £900 https://www.facebook.com/share/19VqC2gUgV/

Seller says "has vibration on tick over been told by garage that the gearbox needs a service as oil to low . Been like it for a few weeks did a 300 mile trip last week and it never missed a beat" (Last time I looked at it he also had the words 'may need a torque converter' but that's edited out now(!).

If he drops it to £500 then is it wedge shaped?

'been told by garage that the gearbox needs a service as oil to low'

And how much would that cost to put right? Probably sod all in relation to the value of the car, so I'm calling bollocks.

Isn't it more likely that the merc needs an engine mount and the garage is going to make an insulting offer?

That was kind of my thought based on my vast* knowledge of these things (i.e. one C Class being sold on here last week with that specific problem :-) )

If we assume that the seller has NFC about cars then I'd go with the idea that the garage are stringing him a line for one reason or another- either they don't want any work on the car or they'll "take it off you hands mister"?

If the ATF is low then (chances are) it'll be better after warming up and expanding. If the vibration is still there then - it's likely not the ATF?
Only way to be sure would be to chap on his door and ask him a few questions?

I was plotting killing the Sprog's Freelander and suggesting she'd like something MB estate shaped for the new baby ..................

[edit] p.s. never had a slushbox that vibrates at tickover if the ATF is too low - mine have always just sulked quietly and refused to do any work

1979 MK3 Ford Capri 2.0 GL - Picture 18 of 19

Here's the real money shot though...

1979 MK3 Ford Capri 2.0 GL - Picture 11 of 19

Quote

i bought this capri in may, after wanting another for years........just not bringing me as much enjoyment as i thought it would.. so iv decided to sell it and put the money into a camper instead...........Theres no history with the car, however, the previous owner told me he dug it out of a barn where it had sat for 25+ years. He paid for full proffesional ground up restoration to a really high quality and then sat on it for another two years without really using it.

There maybe photos but why no bills from the restoration? As for purchasing  a camper .Good luck with carrying around your own shit in the little tank.

At 12.5k all I can say is ....

I told the guy I'd have the green one for cheap, if it's 150 I'll definitely have it!

I think I saw him say to someone else green on its own was £250

I've sent him a pm, he'll send me a video of it later hopefully. At that price it's probably worth it as spares car for mine should I ever need anything.

That looks worse than mine! Also from everything I’ve heard the RHD conversions on these are very poorly engineered.

Come on you lot.

The rest of the motoring world says Princess Anne had one of those when a Scimitar is mentioned.

This is autoshite....we say John Peel had one of those when an UMM is mentioned

@Minimad5 on your door step (I think) if the last Triumph you had hasn't put you off them for life.

Well i was promised the last one 'Will Pass MOT' and royally got shafted . Sadly something has to sell before i rescue anything else, which reminds me I'm still waiting on a few bits for the XJ, which were ordered months ago.
