Nice. I always preferred my pd130 B6 Avants - they're up there with one of my favourite motors I've owned. The cabin on the B5 always felt a bit more spacious though, and was almost perfectly designed both aesthetically and ergonomically.

This is a nice bright looking old thing. Already had sills replaced but those arches may be hiding bigger issues. I had a late mk4 Flight but it was very basic with some dealer-style options  and the clattery 1.3 OHV (Kent?)- these earlier Flights look much nicer with the rev counter, graphics etc. Not sure if it's the same engine?

29,000* miles.

Why would someone reduce the miles by almost half on an old £2k Audi?

It is very peculiar as the mileage goes down a few time including by 99 this year.  Did some think a 29,000 mile Audi was going to be worth big money so kept it below 30k without knowing it was logged in the MOT history online?

I agree with that, and now it's worth less because who knows what the actual mileage is now!

It's a shame as even at 70,000 miles, £2k would have been OK, especially with the new clutch and timing belt (Not that I trust that claim either 😂)

What's the story with these? Are they really worth ££ despite looking like Ali G rejects?

Yes.

Visually, they're the closest UK cars ever got to the Japanese market EK9 Type R, a model we were denied.

They weren't as highly specced (I think they were just a VTi underneath). Think of it a bit like a 205 Rallye UK: a sticker package hiding a still-good-but-not-the-real-deal car (205 Rallye UK was basically an XS).
