I was wondering if late Portuguese Marinas used Ital door handles as BL was running out production but this is a 1979.
A North Africa - Gibraltar - Cross Continent road trip par excellence perhaps

Allow me to bust the mythical status of the 'press car'.

You know that joke about the 'fastest car in the world' being a hire car?

It's actually a press car.

They are relentlessly, mercilessly thrashed and crashed. Sure they get mollycoddled back at HQ but then they're back out there being beaten to within an inch of their lives.

There is a (true) story about a journo who was genuinely using press cars as taxi cabs. The same journo would charge, per word, for a manufacturer-submitted review.

After about six months of abuse, these press cars are unceremoniously de-fleeted and punted on as a 'demonstrator' to some unsuspecting schmuck. Run-in period? Forget about it. Run-ragged period maybe.

Those ones on the press junket - usually LHD. They might be a little special, subtly breathed on, hand polished. They're the ones that need to look good for the photos, go well for the prose. But the beaters back home? Standard. High-spec, usually, but nothing special.

I'd sooner have Hertz Rent-a-car as the first owner.

someone on here was restoring an orange one that they tracked down via some ace detective work from Google maps (which also turned out to be the one around the corner from my old house so I could have saved the trouble 😂). can't remember who it was though for the life of me

EDIT: quick search of my posts remind me it was @howe

Quote: 1 new brake pad.

There's a sign of a car well looked after. Still would though.

There is no sea near Winsford, but there's a Halfords in nearby Northwich so you can buy a number plate removal tool
