B plate would be an SRi.  There were Y plate SRis  and one sad X plate SR where I was working back in the day.

 115 hp 5 speed SRi vs 90 hp 4 speed  SR. No other differences but chalk and cheese at 100 mph on the M5.  :shock:

Reg wise (far) too late to be the uber ace SR. They were only available on 'X' and the odd early 'Y' reg

Ahh, FFS. Used Chrome instead of whatever that other thing is, thought it might have sorted the problem.
