OK - I am cheating here by starting this thread early, but as I plan on starting out at 5am local time (4am for most of you lot) I am not stopping to start threads before leaving. It will be very dark and I am not a morning person, so WCPGW?

As is traditional with these threads, starting with the breakfast shot and again a cheat, the coffee is for now, but the crisps will be mated with a fresh brew in the morning.

Tomorrow will see me set off across 3 countries to make an unusual collection for me, before returning tomorrow afternoon/evening, so can I count that as 6 countries? :-)

As long as it’s some form of Saab, you can count as many countries as you like!

Not a Saab this time, something completely different for me!

Surely the forum could have hit leboncoin or mobile.de up for some suitable crap to jointly purchase that would fit a bicycle and trailer, then the Bucketeer could have piloted it to you.

Damn why didn't I think of that 3 days ago!

Have a safe drive.

Seeing the thread title I thought...could it be??...

Unlikely.

What a fantastic looking car.

Je suis knackered! :-)

Just done the maths, since leaving this morning I have covered 857 miles. Including 2 coffee stops, 1 refuel of diesel, finding Mr B and loading up, that was an average of 66mph at 45 mpg.

Lovely empty motorways, 1 set of roadworks for 3km and no other holdups. Tell me again why I live in the UK?

This is brilliant, love this thread! Great gesture Saabnut

Edit - this and the other thread!

"Tell me again why I live in the UK?"

Cheap cars, proper beer and curries.

That is all :)

Not only that, I find continental and especially French highways tend to be elevated rather than sunken. So you actually see stuff when driving rather than hedgerow after hedgerow. Makes the journey far more interesting.
