No they weren't actually bids, hence my

'Bouncing bids off the wall comment'

I was referring to hopelessly optimistic vendors really ...

The Tinas estimate was 10-12k ...

Therein lies it's reserve.

It was in good nick, but nowhere near 10-12k.

That's obvs my opinion, a Ford licker may disagree

If you've a barn full of ropey Fiat Uno turbos you're happy to take 7400 for each Then you've a deal.

Some lovely old stuff there, the pick of the bunch was obviously...

Looks a lovely example, anyone know what it went for?

Would have been disappointed if you hadn't.

Cheaper than a push bike.Well a push bike at ACA anyway.

Did those Choppers go for silly money then? I have to say though, I fell head over heels in love with the Mercedes W108

Mate of mine has a Mark III Fiesta 1.6S in factory black. G reg iirc.

It's for sale. It's nowhere near 5 grand either. Probably under 1500 quid.

The new in box one made over a grand + 15%. The black one started at £400.

What sort of money did the XJS's go for then?

I quite liked the look of the red manual one.

I went with giffer from work as he was interested in that one, he asked me to bid up to 3k  it went for a couple of hundred for than that plus fees..

It was in last auction when i got my Rover

Ah Christ, both the 205 and the BX seemed pretty cheap. I’m an Indiot for not lobbing in a bid.

Results up now that lovely Wols went for £6,784.....curse my tiny garage.

Just beat me that post by a few mins...lots still seem to show estimate, so either unsold/provisional or the wall at the back has a few

Your datsun is now here.

Went on their website Tuespost-20451-0-21210500-1541610762_thumb.png

Quick 2500 mark up

Bloody Nora, that shagged HB Viva went for 1100 quid!!  Glad I didn't hold out for it and stuck my paw up for the Y10 instead.

I might be, I'll ping barmatt see if he is.

Worryingly I should have some spare money by then as well.

This looks like a total weapon. I'd genuinely love to have it but presumably it'll b loads of money (also I'm never going to ACA again)

I'll be there.

If anyone wants the buy the MX5 from me at ACA then I’d simply have to buy something to get home in

The 2cv looks decent for the estimate.

Unfortunately I am working that day, so won't be able to make it.

A shame, as a few interesting things are going through. The Mk2 Astra and 505 both look like interesting lots.

Surely that won’t go for anywhere near £1000

Some of the estimates on ACA are pure fiction.

I think some are deliberately low to get people to turn up and think they might get it at a bargain price.

My Austin 1100 is entered for next week (although whether I'll be there as well probably depends on whether they give sellers free entry!).  The lower end of the estimate is the reserve set by the seller (at least it is in my case).  I'd assumed they'd want to see the car before accepting and listing it but they've just gone on my description and photos; I'm not sure what they'd do if when delivered they discover it's nothing like the description.

I've been pretty unimpressed by their lack of professionalism so far, so it will be interesting to see how next week goes.

I'll be there-not been there before and haven't been to an auction in a long time.

I see the Astra is still 1598cc according to the DVLA.

That should surely be set out in the catalogue...or maybe not. Both as a buyer and seller at these kind of things I think they are a circus IMHO and would never get involved again.

Unless incredibly rare or cheap surely better to buy off an owner and have a good look or test drive etc.

I anyway lost interest in 'collectors' cars - our kind of cars are much more fun - spend the balance taking the car somewhere more interesting on a roadtrip. Lots of fantastic cars are still super value, Citroens from the 80/90's, similarly Mercedes from the same era unless sports etc etc.

And lots of these established 'collectors' drive like sheds IMHO. And their owners are  ****** best avoided too!?. Grump over.

I really like the look of that Aermacchi 3-wheeler pickup thing.  Interesting history too.
