Hello. Long time lurker, first time member.

After years of riding motorcycles to work at 06:00 every morning i have finally got fed up with the cold and worrying about ice in the winter months and decided to get four wheels and a heater.

Last night i spotted a Renault Extra Wheelchair Van thingy on Ebay about 3 minutes before the listing ended,

I spent two and a half minutes pondering it and then put in a bid, won it and picking it up at the weekend.

 If i can tax it.

That's just the kind of thing that gets encouraged on here. Welcome along.

Thanks, I may have to do a pick up thread, it seems to be the done thing on this site.

Hello peeps.

I come here from a mention in practical classics.

I'm a 45yr old retired tyre fitter from North Wales.

Jag owner and serial Mgf owner/spanner monkey.

Hello :)

How on earth do you retire at 45 on a tyre fitter`s wage?

I`ve missed my vocation :)

Evening all,

Been lurking on here a while, thought it was about time I introduced myself. I currently live in Shetland so sadly due to the climate there isn't much in the way of shite left on the road up here. Previous lumps of shite to have graced my driveway have been (in no particular order) Austin 1100, Ford Capri Laser, Escort Mk3 1.3, Renault Espace (1st generation), Ford Dorchester - I wanted a 7 seater but fancied something a bit different and in typical Autoshite style it was spotted on eBay with 30 mins to go with no bids and was 180 miles away so threw in a £350 bid and won it.

I am currently sans-shite but am always on the lookout

Welcome to the fold. I only joined a few months back and am now thoroughly addicted. Nice selection of cars there although I'll now have to google Ford Dorchester as I don't have a clue what that is!

Hello all, member here, my choice of transport is a Fiat Seicento Sporting with the

need for a front bumper and an o/s front wing after an altercation with a stone wall and a metal gate, otherwise all is fine. I'm from Manchester. My previous shite transportation have been an A reg Datsun Sunny estate, a D reg Suzuki Santana, a D reg Sierra 1.8 (that was a real dog) a B reg Yugo 45 and an N reg Punto Cabrio. Anyway that's enough, I've been getting a bit carried away with myself...

My Dorchester was based on a Mk3 Granada with the 2.9 engine and auto box. (the pictures isn't my actual car but a similar one from Google - mine was on an E plate). Notable goodness included the privacy screen behind the front 2 seats so if the kids were being particularly noisy you could just slide the screen up and not have to listen to 90% of the squabbling and twin accelerator pedals, one either side of the brake pedal. They were on levered setup where you could have one accelerator in use and the other was up under the dash and vice versa. Sadly she succumbed to major rot so ended up over the bridge. The look on my parents face when they came to visit and I went to pick them up from the train station was priceless..........

^ I remember when one of them was the best car you could pick on the PlayStation game "Toca Touring Cars". Makes me feel pretty old now tbh.

Hi

Can I join in?

I have a Citroen Picasso diesel that not only smells a bit off inside, it has the build quality of a pie case...its horrible. I've also got a posh car, a 12yr old diesel Rover.

Can bring myself to take photos of the Citroen

Welcome along Bone,  please post pics of the Rover.  The Citroen will only make John F have one of his turns. ;)

Afternoon all,

Have been lurking for a while now. Since rolling my '89 mini a few weeks ago i am now a fiesta driver. A 1995 lx 1.3 to be precise, and have another on the drive for sale.

The wife drives a 2001 golf estate i inherited from my parents. All three are true shite boxes but i am growing to love my fiesta.

I also have a suzuki gp100 bike i am currently restoring, also slightly shite bikey.

That'll polish out etc.

Good to know you still have a head, even though the bump on it led you down the path of a 1995 Fiesta and this place.

Hi all, long time lurker here. I have had a fascination for dodgy cars for years and not sure joining is a good thing in some ways (a bit like an alcoholic getting a job in bargain booze!).

Particular love for old fords, minis, anything weird and especially Eastern European shite. Presently rebuilding a Capri but have previously owned a string of fords, volvos, couple of porkers, some VWs and a couple of mazdas. Presently driving a slightly tatty H plate MX5 which replaced an increasingly tatty MGB GT.

Pretty handy with a spanner and always happy to help out others with similar afflictions.

Ooh - I'm finding myself drawn to tatty Bs recently - particularly the GT. Any pics?

Hello, an introduction. My name is Neil Campbell, and i've been on this forum for years under various guises - not because of anything dodgy, just because i keep forgetting my username and password and have to start again...

So now i'm no longer Mingnut, i'm neilincov. Which as i'm called Neil and i live in Coventry, should be easy for me to remember. I hope.

I also work for Practical Classics Magazine, and have done for nearly eight years - however, i'm leaving PC on June 19, to take up a new role at Jaguar Heritage. As i will no longer be dealing with shite cars for my day-to-day i'll be on here more for my fix.

Cheers,

Neil

1979 Triumph Dolomite 1850HL (Broken in so, so, so many different ways)

1988 Saab 900 Turbo (broken)

1992 Saab 900XS Auto (partially broken)

1995 Rover 214SLi LPG (working, but in a constant state of almost brokenness - NOW FOR SALE!!!!)

2007 Fiat Panda Dynamic (Black, with yellow interior. Phwoar!)

I have on my laptop, I will try and dig them out later. B GTs are amazing fun, especially as the rozzers assume a forty year old in one has had a momentary loss of control as opposed to meaning to leave the roundabout sideways.

I once left a roundabout sideways and suffered a momentary loss of control. I had to do the rest of the journey with the windows open.

Not to mention the time we were brothers in the Daihatsu Sirion Owners' Club. Well, the only two people in that club...
