Hi, I decided to sign up after finding an autoshite sticker on my car. I also found another of my cars had been owned by a few folk on here after a chance encounter with them at FOTU. These are the two in question among a sea of other crap that I love to drive.

New here! I'm Katie and while the fleet is about 5 strong three of them are clios that I never use anymore, the real stars of the show are my MK1 Twingo and sinker Xantia! The twingo has been a daily all its life and has the battle scars to prove it, poor thing isn't a looker but its mini me makes up for that! The Xantia is believed to be the oldest remaining UK example, and while I'm not fully convinced (and now maintain a national register in search for an older one) I've yet to see one within a week of the age of mine. Poor thing is a project and needs a lot of work still before I can trust her on road trips, but the list isn't too long! Just expensive. Ugh.

I can also provide piccies of the clios if anybody wants to see them 🥺

Welcome along! Great to meet you and the Xantia at the Chevrons Rally. Glad we got your battery cables sorted!

Not new but absent awhile, and thus re-introducing myself. Hope everyone's fine and dandy.

Still clinging on to the Streetwise and the Rover 420. And a moon mileage Vauxhall Combo van. And still self-employed couriering.

Now for an epic catch-up. This may take some time. Unless someone can summarise the last three years or so of Autoshite in a succinct paragraph for me.

Welcome back. Same old, but some very interesting new. A few fights, plenty of work and laughs. Happy reading.

Thank you very much!! Apologies for the late response, completely forgot to check back! The battery has been perfectly well behaved since, can't say the same about the rocker cover gasket though, that's my next job! 😅😂

Welcome, @AssortedFrenchTat - there's many a Citroen licker on here who may be able to answer any questions you have.

Thank you so much!! Got much to learn about on the Xantia as I've not had it long, didn't even know what a sinker was until I bought it! She was originally going to be somewhat ruined for a cheap car challenge, but as soon as I met her previous owner and realised what a special car she was that immediately went out the window. She's a resto project now, going to keep her battle scars but also tidy her up and keep her on the road! She'll still attend the cheap car challenge, just minus the spray paint livery I originally had in mind. It'd be sacrilege to paint her. She just needs a rocker cover gasket, some major rust work behind the rear quarter, and the boot seams resealing for now, then the rest is just little touches :)

Thank you! I'd actually bought it several years prior to the big twingo in a very sorry state. Once I bought the big twingo I snuck it into work for a full resto! It really does make up for the fact the big one is a poor battered daily. I'm forever torn between tidying up the exterior or leaving it as is!

Hello everyone! My name is Chris and I live in Fife, Scotland. Been lurking here for years on and off, but finally decided to join in with whatever it is you guys do here. Have owned many a POS over the years including some old BMC and BL rubbish. These days I'm a bit of a sucker for anything with a bit of history to it. Recently sent my 2007 Jazz to a new owner and have upgraded(?) to a 2007 Peugeot 107 Urban Lite. It has all the bASe features like acoustic windows and having to reach over to unlock the passenger door. The Jazz was a strange one too, early pre-facelift bASe 2004 spec on a 2007 car. Rescued her from a date with scrap man and she survived for another year and a half. I guess I just have a bit of a thing for the unexceptional and unloved.

Ha! That might get awkward! I'm in sunny San Andreas, home of golf tourists and rich American students.

I'm just a homage really. Wonder if I can change my name to avoid copyright infringement?
