New old rag rop shite.....

Been after this for a wee while now. The call came today. Been sat for a good few years, chap has owned it for 17 years. Jump started it and drove it home. Pluffy exhaust , scuffy brakes and a bit mouldy. Otherwise spot on. Eveything worked, even the 4 ws. Not sure of its a keeper or fix up amd sell on. Gotta be on their arse prise wise at the moment.

I didn’t even know these came as a convertible, the roof off really suits the shape!

I was just about to comment that I bet it’s a slushbox. Then I saw the interior photo. For some reason, 99.99% of the convertibles are two pedallers.

It looks pretty tidy for a car which has been sat for a while. I used to own a Carlos Saints GT4 Celica (gen 5 - same shape as yours) and values have risen steadily. Even the standard NA couples are rising in price - I still reckon they’re aesthetically spot-on considering they were designed almost 30 years ago.

Yeah, agreed.  They look like dogsegg with the roof up though.

"Pluffy"....a new addition to the Autoshite lexicon...........and extremely onomatopoeic...

Yes definitely not worth anything . I would be doing you a favour at £200. Even then I would be losing money. It's not like it's a desirable spec or anything. People want something more modern now you see.

Cheers chaps. Its was £500 as it sat, so was pleased it started and seems to be ok. ....... Will update once cleaned and roaded. :)

I don't think I've ever seen one of those ever! It's beautiful, proper summer water!

This is actually very tidy after a good clean. Don't think it would be for me, but can only go up in value shirley?

I really like this shape Celica and the previous ST162 (I think?). Were the convertibles officially sold here, or were they all imports?

Yup, all mot'd and a good few hundred miles under its belt with no drama. Mrs ks has claimed it so i only get to use it when she isnt... She has also fallen for the allegro, so is alternating between them....

Shame it has that 'Convertible' decal.

Eliminates the mystery of why it doesn't have a metal roof.

Why would somebody park this up for a few years .... did it need much to get through mot ?

When's the roffle ?

You can’t not like pop up headlamps

Indeed.

So right, perhaps subliminally reminding us of an excited female? Or perhaps just a puppy waking up and wanting to play.
