Fabergé Greggs Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Come on now, this is much too nice to pass on so soon. Have you tried Footman James? They insured me without a garage when everyone else said nay flat4alfa 1
Jim Bell Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 Come on now, this is much too nice to pass on so soon. Have you tried Footman James? They insured me without a garage when everyone else said nayYup. They wouldnt offer at all. This may be more to do with ME than anything else. For some reason insurance companies seem to hate me. They might be keeping track of all the policies I start and then cancel in the cooling off period I guess.
Jim Bell Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 This is now provisionally sold to a shitter of great taste and standing. Pending collection. barefoot, BorniteIdentity, Datsuncog and 9 others 12
mrbenn Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 This is now provisionally sold to a shitter of great taste and standing. Pending collection. I think you've done Autoshite a great service by simply bringing this into the fold! loserone, Datsuncog, Slartibartfast and 2 others 5
Jim Bell Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 I know absolutely that the new owner will take better care of it and keep it longer than I ever would. Which is certainly for the best all round. flat4alfa and Slartibartfast 2
dollywobbler Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Which at least proves it isn't me that's bought it. Slartibartfast, egg, rantingYoof and 2 others 5
Jim Bell Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 Which at least proves it isn't me that's bought it. Its a miracle that Ive never bought a car off you or vice versa man. The odds must be astronomical considering the vehicles we get through and the circles we move in. loserone and egg 2
Slartibartfast Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Which at least proves it isn't me that's bought it. Beat me to it
dollywobbler Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Its a miracle that Ive never bought a car off you or vice versa man. The odds must be astronomical considering the vehicles we get through and the circles we move in. Indeed! Closest we've come is me selling a Daewoo to you that wasn't mine.

Closest we've come is me selling a Daewoo to you that wasn't mine.Ill sell you it in a couple of weeks to reattach the mobious strip to itself so you can have sold it to yourself by proxy, once removed. dollywobbler, somewhatfoolish and robinmasters 3
flat4alfa Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 What is your ownership record? This one must be all of 36 hours
yes oui si Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 If the sale falls through, give me a nudge for a p/X offer...
Schaefft Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Dammit, I at least wanted to see it once before its leaving the North East again.
Split_Pin Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 You can get all the nutrients you require for a week from peanut butter and orange juice. Looking forward to seeing who has bought it. BorniteIdentity and The Moog 2
SiC Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Yup. They wouldnt offer at all. This may be more to do with ME than anything else. For some reason insurance companies seem to hate me. They might be keeping track of all the policies I start and then cancel in the cooling off period I guess. Or could be that most insurance companies do a credit search when you take out a policy. So if you have taken out policies often, its possible that you have a lot of searches on your credit history. This hurts your credit rating. Maybe worth looking at your credit history. flat4alfa, Slartibartfast, egg and 1 other 4
Jim Bell Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 What is your ownership record? This one must be all of 36 hoursI picked a Volvo 343 up from Beverley with Overrun that we went halves on (the town, not the woman) and we sold it to a lad on the way home. Didnt plan to sell it, just got a good offer en route home. That was probably about 3 hours ish of ownership. Hard to beat that I reckon. Was a lovely drive though. Datsuncog Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 That was probably about 3 hours ish of ownership. Hard to beat that I reckon. Chum of mine once managed 15 minutes ownership of an Escort Mk6. Bought it in Bangor, drove it 5 miles home to Ards along the dual carriageway; realised he didn't much care for the way it handled at speed and carried on past his door to a local dealer, where he chopped it in against a Honda CRX. His wife was mildly confused because he went out to collect a white Ford but came home in a blue Honda. #shitelife Essex V6, Lacquer Peel, Slartibartfast and 6 others 9

flat4alfa Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 trader's insurance Wilson Squared Motors (WSM) certainly has enough turnover to qualify! NorfolkNWeigh 1
SiC Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Insurance searches are soft searches that don’t impact anything. Are they still soft searches even after taking out a policy? Especially if taken out on pay-monthly which is effectively a financial product?
flat4alfa Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Hard to beat that I reckon. In other news You have 71 posts left to do to win The FIVE FIGURAGE Jim Bell 1
Jim Bell Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 have you thought about trader's insurance mate? works for me and many others Yeah but the quotes Ive got have always been unaffordable. Like 1500 quid. They want the lot up front too. Might give them another try though. Who are you with man?
Kiltox Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Are they still soft searches even after taking out a policy? Especially if taken out on pay-monthly which is effectively a financial product?Yup. Keeping a very close eye on my credit files at the moment due to impending mortgage Jim Bell and SiC 2

BorniteIdentity Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 I owned a Rover 75 for 8 minutes once. Shook on the deal outside, left the car running, did the bizzo and paperwork, came outside to see the needle in the red and a steam screen. The refund took a couple of days as I paid on card, and the v5 had to be tippexed. Quality. Lacquer Peel, Datsuncog, Junkman and 3 others 6
BorniteIdentity Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Anyway, sorry to see you’re losing this so soon. Better to have loved and lost tho... Jim Bell 1
