I should have been helping with some land Rover Welding on Saturday and in The Liner at Liverpool on Sunday, but life got in the way.

I've been sent a few photos. I'll dump them here. If there's a better place feel free to share them, I know nothing about Landies, except they rust.

Not much happening over the Winter. Ste has bought another racing Yaris from his brother,

So we now have Yaris x3 ready to race, and Yaris x2 straight off the road and in  my garden.

Keira is now 10 and will start racing next season when she feels ready.

Had a practise last weekend which fell a bit flat, Kept stalling it, then it failed to start. I wasn't there, it's a long day for me these days.

Anyway it was my job to wash it today, and unload.

Discovered the non start was due to the key. Key is taped into the wiring at the column sensor, then stuck in a box. I jiggle the tape and it starts!

Can't unload the car. Rear o/s brake is jammed solid. Wouldn't even drive off the trailer.

So I remove wheel, bash the drum off, refit wheel loose and it rolls. Handbrake or wheel cylinder seized.  Job for tomorrow.

Need to apologise to Kiera for the stalling and poor performance. Not her fault.

Likely be quiet again now. Racing starts March.

My ex next door neighbour has passed away, age 98. We have a car in her garage that needs to go somewhere.

RIP Ruth. Friend and good neighbour for over 30 years. Hope the next people like the sound of angle grinders as much as you.

When I used to work on stuff on my parents drive, on the st Albans ring road, there was an elderly couple in the house immediately opposite (with an immaculate cortina MK1 GT!) who had the most reason to complain.

Did they? No, they used to sit in their front room having morning coffee, and watch the shenanigans, sometimes they'd even wander over and have a chat about what we were doing this time! They told me it was more entertaining than watching TV!

In contrast, the miserable bugger from several houses up, who couldn't actually see any part of my parents house used to wander past muttering, things like 'looks like a bloody breakers yard!' although he never actually had the guts to talk to me direct.

Immediately he appeared, we usually started singing Bachman Turner overdrives 'You ain't seen nuthin' yet!'as loudly as possible! 🤣

He is. We don't  know  him  well, but he lets on, and  talks now and then.

Same goes for his dad, old Frank. He once turned up with his wife at a young fans birthday party, when few expected he would actually keep his word.

My Grand kids used to look up to Phoebe and she gets on well with them.

Ste also hired an F2 from her now husband Karl Hawkins. He and his entourage sorted the car all meeting very well, and at a bargain rate ("seeing as I know you").

Stuart Smith Junior once gave my eldest Granddaughter a  large trophy  as he was leaving the track, (we don't know him at all).

Later in the same meeting was when Ste won his first Euro. She abandoned Stuarts Trophy  at once.

Amelias 'new' car for 2026 season. First meeting this Sunday. EDIT racing cancelled. nothing on next week either, but I'm in Spain then.

It's actually 2 seasons old. Amazing what new door skins. front wings and a bit of paint will do.

Only taking one car this weekend.

Trailer's a bit back heavy but it won't be when we throw all the spares in the boot.

Wow just caught up with this whole thread from 2019 😱😱😱😱 where I must have lost track somehow.

You sir @Mally come across as an absolute top bloke and your skills are phenomenal 🫡🫡🫡🫡.

I've not got enough time left on the planet to be as cool as you but I'll try my best 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.

Awesome read but sadly I must now go and do some ACTUAL work for a change 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣.

Shame that.

It's a last minute booking next Thursday for a week.   I'm over again 23 April for the Feria all being well.

Not sure after that my health is not what it was.

Glad you caught decent weather,  I'm in Angela with the other old Codgers

New Autograss season. First meeting Nottingham 15 March.

I'm not allowed to go as it was Keiras (age 10 ) first meeting and she gets overcome at times when go carting so it was felt the less pressure the better.

In the event she did well for a first go and now wants to race 'every day' not just every weekend. Amelia won one and was second in another.

She was is a car recently bought from my other son Ian's family, and liked it.

There's a video if I can get it on. Amelia is in the Orange car and Keira at the back, blue car with pink headlights. I'm going next week, Scunthorpe Autograss.

Sat/Sun. We do it the old folks way, these days, Hotel and Restaurant Sat night, Ste and Family sleep in a Van in a field.

I'm so outrageously jealous. I wish I was racing cars every weekend, and I really really wish I'd been doing it at 10 years old.

New to her car, first race in it. I tell her to bang the brakes, turn in tight, foot back on. ........ In one ear and out the other,  Took her 18 months to start winning.

Kiera is different, listens and tries to comply. No guarantees, but expect her to be fast sooner than 18 months. But  car is big when you are 10 and quite small.

Thought of this thread the other night, I went to Northampton to watch the stocks racing.

Colours of wings, heats, v8s, finales, every car on the track, etc

I had absolutely no idea what was going on, and it looked like absolute chaos, but it was excellent to watch. Some amazing driving on show.

21st March  F1 and F2 ?

It is difficult to know who is winning as  a new Spectator.  Watch the Starter. He will point to the leader and count the first few through with his fingers.

We raced  F2,   Probably around 25K for a good car now.   F1  can be 60K or more.  It's madness really when you know you are going to smash it up.

They are starting Speedway at Northampton I hear. I'm not an avid Speedway fan, but no brakes takes some doing on a bike and it's a much faster presentation.

I was there with a friend and his two work mates. One of the chaps used to work on stock cars with his father years ago javing travelled all over the country going to the events, and occasionally drove aswell, his father sadly passed away not long ago And my mate suggested going to a stock event, as it was near me he gave me a shout as they had travelled down from Darlington.

The chap who had been around them was explaining the goings on and pointed out the starter doing the  hand gestures of 1st 2nd 3rd up to 10 he seemed to do, I was impressed at how fast he was doing it, in fact the whole thing seem to be very well run.

I think Skegness is on the cards for a next meet up.

In a strange quirk of fate I've become involved in a Bereavement Flat clearance. Area of BB4.

If you need a Fridge/freezer/ TV,  Wardrobe or 2.  There's other stuff just ask.  You won'r find any cheaper. Must collect pretty soon.

It's fine. Was very unexpected and strange, but a Solicitor dropped it in my lady friends lap . It is a relative, you can't choose them.

Would you like a Wardrobe or a glass car?
