What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

I was led to believe the really early Xantias are sinkers, but only at the back.  Once you got on to the facelift they weren't sinkers.  Could be wrong though, I don't know the actual facts.

@Cobblers: could be.  I think the seller wants £200 for it?

Early Xantias sink fully like a BX, and there's no such thing as a pre-facelift estate. £200 Xantia estate? "WOULD".

I'll tell you what amused me tonight, the fact Autotrader thinks I'm one of you lot.

It seems at some point I've linked onto Autotrader from here and now whenever I log on even through google it thinks I live in Dunstans close, Chester Le Street. Confused the shit out of me when I put nearest first into the search.

Yesterday moaned that paint had bubbled up in new house after treating with ronseal base coat stuff.

Well take it all back. It did what it said on tin and today paintwork flat as witches tit.

I never get that saying, as the only witch I know has quite the full pair of jubblies.

Also saw a Family Guy ice cream van in Germiston last week showing Peter Griffin chasing a ball but was too slow with the camera.

Most of the election memes were rubbish, but this one made me smirk.

Vince Cable: "The Liberal Democrats will bounce back"

As soon as they sided with Cameron in the last election, they should have changed their tag line to 'Making the unelectable even more unelectable'

Not all bad news, though, that hateful, odious twat Galloway got turfed out.

Nothing beats that time portillo got put out on his arse. Some of the ones who lost their seat seemed genuinely baffled by the democratic process of if people don't vote for you you don't get in. Just standing their with a look of "how did this happen" on their face.

What a day! And it's not even 2 o'clock yet.

Finally completed the the sale of the Coupe. Woke up early this morning to collect buyer from train station, brought him back here, showed him around car, took it off nieghbours drive, switched it off for a few minutes and suddenly it wouldn't start again! Brill. Thankfully, the buyer seemed rather keen on my car which was a good sign, he was going to have it whether it started or not so the buyer called the RAC who diagnosed a problem with the fuel pump, but then went right off it when I told RAC bloke it had LPG. So, the AA were called next, the AA chap was a bit more sympathetic to old vehicles and he managed to get it started!

Turned out to be a fault with the fuel pump relay, it got cleaned up and the car started like a good 'un. Buyer happy and we set off so I could lead him to the motorway...

As I was trundling down the motorway I got a call from the people of whom I had a job interview with a few days earlier, they have offered me a job starting at £17k! Couldn't believe it! I know that for about 95% people, finding and getting a job is just a bit of a game or a minor tryst but for me it's been a long hard road to climb with doors shut in my face time after time and job agencies messing me about with aimless short-term work for the last 8 years.

May I suggest thinking up six numbers between 1 and 49 Herr Sterling, as I reckon today is your day. Congratulations on the job!

I think Plaid is probably hindered by the language thing. Possibly puts a lot of non-welsh speaking residents in Wales off. It shouldn't, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Leanne Wood learned Welsh, I think. Unfortunately a lot of Welsh language activists/campaigns are very negative and I think it gets lumped in with Plaid.

got the questionnaire from the emigration group in this mornings post for us to possibly emigrating to New Zealand. they seem to think we would have a reasonably good chance of getting work permits with my experience and education etc. plus the other half is really up for us going. there isn't much to hold us here (my folks, my house, some old cars and a cat) and we think this place is pretty much finished.

dunno about the £95 quid that they want for going through with and processing our application, but there is no way we'd be able to do it ourselves.

they have a points system, but i would need to have a deffo job offer before we could go.

but the thought of been able to go that has put a big ol' smile on both of our faces.
