What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

I spent today attacking the garden with a petrol chainsaw. At one point I had to chop my way back into the garden as bits of tree had fallen behind me so I was doing lightsabre impressions. Also, way too much oil in the mix so it smoked the garden out, just in case the noise wasn't upsetting the neighbours enough.

Its been replaced by a higher up model of the same machine with fricking leds and buttons on it!

Do vacuums need buttons and LEDs ?

Was it? I thought it was well received and had a good reception all round. Everyone I know who saw it loved it.

I think it's one of those series that gets forgotten quickly. The critics loved it, along with discerning TV viewers, but I doubt many people will remember it in 10 years' time. Which is a shame, as it was utterly Awesome. I mean, Pam Ferris having people's hands nailed to the table?!!

Idris Elba is a great actor who unfortunately had to go to the US to get any kind of recognition. The people who recognise his name probably won't have much appreciation for dark & twisted British crime drama.

Hey @beko1987, are you interested in a free Dyson DC08?  Circa 2003, in spangly purple over jogging bottom green. It's complete and works, more or less, but would benefit greatly from a service and has a bite out of the handle like the one in your avatar.  Will deliver to Shitefest.

Genuine reason for sale giveway - it's bulky and gets in the way and getting replaced by something more svelt.

Cool, I'll bring it along.  It's been a faithful friend and I'd love to see it have a happy new life that doesn't involve choking on MDF dust in my garage.

Had read that somewhere too. Apparently he had a high rise Jeep at one point too. Strange man...

Roadkill's FB page has announced that they've secured enough budget for ~1 year's worth of episodes courtesy of Dodge sponsorship.

Apparently that doesn't preclude giving old Dodges a hard time either. Nor does it mean that they have to exclusively focus on MOPAR products.

Next ep comes out on Friday too. Can't wait.

Onion Bus got an admiring glance today... from a lady getting into her silver Mk2 Xantia hatchback!  I think that makes it half a dozen Xantias I know of up here now.

I was out and about earlier and saw an old boy in a beautiful local registered gold mk1 fiesta 1.3 gl, he looked at happy fella driving it, the guy must've had a good sense of humour he parked it next to a badly parked mk6 fiesta st,

So www.dailysportscar.com put a story on their web site asking the readers if they would like to have a look over Nissan's new LMP1 Le-mans car and ask the team a few questions. http://www.dailysportscar.com/2015/04/01/nissan-nismo-announce-lmp1-fan-forum-at-silverstone.html

I put in an email and crossed my fingers.

This morning I got a phone call from Graham Goodwin (the editor of dailysportscar) inviting me along to Silverstone on Friday evening to be part of the press conference and post press conference chat with the team. Now where did I put that 240Z t-shirt?

Andrew C had new valves fitted on the Foden, it really pulls a damn sight stronger now.

After 2 weeks of everyone telling me that I'm going to freeze I'm quite glad I've booked a couple of nights camping this week.   Yes I'm taking that tent and also a small red one that Ms C acquired from a festival site after it was abandoned.  Weirdley while it only needed 2 poles it had 4 with it and only one of them was the right length.  Ten minutes with the angry grinder sorted that out though.

All this talk of vacuum cleaners reminds me, when I first came here my wife had an antique dust distributor so I got her a bagless jobbie. Unfortunately it took a lot of persuasion to convince her that "bagless vacuum cleaner" does not equal "portable black hole". Sometimes you have to empty them...
