My wife has been on an interview panel this week for a new sales job at her work, and today they got a call from one of the applicants "I'm here, where are you?" Turned out he's gone to the Wrexham site, 40 miles away from where the interview was. Upon arrival everyone got a glass of water, which the applicant promptly spilled all over the table and head of department. And then when the interview finished, he got up from the chair and gave his arse crack a good old scratch in front of them all.

They didn't offer him the job...

The classic Bangor and Bangor-on-Dee error?

No, the lesser known Wrexham and St Asaph error!

Not my joke, but it made me LOL nevertheless-

AKA that bit between a lady's 'entrance and exit' as one way smells of fish and the other is a shit hole.

There's little love so far. Have to say I'm not a metro fan either, although have never driven one or been in one

Also metros are ace my mum had a early mg metro in yellow with red seat belts. I spent a lot of time inside it pretending to be a rally driver (car was not running as I was too young to drive) it was like them YouTube videos of people making car noises but not driving a actual car.

No Metro love here either... only memories are a school friend's mum having a brown City X (replaced in 1994 by a Citroen ZX - M640 RSS, where are you now?) and FATHA_CMS showing up from the pub, hammered, with a beige 1.3HLS he bought for fifty quid. He proclaimed it an underpowered pile of shit, MUTHA_CMS refused to get in it and he chopped it in a week later at Peat Road Motors for a Montego... 1.3.

The roll of bubblewrap I bought only just fits in the ZX, wont be looking in the rear view mirror tonight though. I need a bigger car...

M640 RSS - Vehicle details not found :( MyCarcheck app finds it though, just not doovla

^^^knobheads. It's a car, it's better than walking and I'm sure loads of old biddies loved theirs.

Worked on loads and even briefly owned one. There not the greatest but to what?

I don't think they are that bad but then I like Minis as well.

I had a Metro recently. Pov spec and mint. One owner from new and returned to the supplying dealer when the owner quit driving. I spent quite a bit on it as I wanted it to be 'right' then I split with the wife and she sold it for £200!

I liked that little car....

I reckon a lot of the stigma around Metros was that it was a perfectly capable and competitive car when it was released in 1980 but, despite a decent makeover 10 years later, it was an 18 year old design by times it was finally killed off, so it was trying to compete with the Mk4 Fiesta, 106, Corsa, Saxo and a whole other raft of much, much newer designs.  Putting it through an NCAP test just highlighted how old it was - I'm fairly sure any other 1980 supermini (Samba/104/Visa/5/Polo/Fiesta) would have fared just as badly!

I liked Metros, they were decent wee cars in the early 80s and the 1990 K series facelift gave them another lease of life for a couple of years, but in typical underfunded BL style they kept them going long after they should have been pensioned off.

I smell like a 1980s garage and/or multistorey car park courtesy of the Alfa we've so very nearly finished.

I can see that going "BOING" and getting wrapped around the rear wheel, locking it up and sending him roof-first through a shop window.

In the most important news you could ever have, I won the weekly darts final in the GRAEME BROADLEY TRANSPORT Sporting Arena* today. I won the second game on the bull too, and took the week 3-2 against strong opposition**
