 My "Spotted" was this...

...which I've since seen out-and-about a couple of times.  This morning on the way home from work, I spotted it in a used-car showroom that I pass every day!  So obviously I lowered the property values for an hour by leaving the Volvo outside while I went in and chatted to the youthful sales oik.  Apparently it's on loan from a local old-boy who is a serial restorer.  He does this regularly so they can have an eye-catching Christmas display.  Well it works, it caught mine!  I told him it was famous and it might be a nice touch to buy the old boy a copy of the mag.  Can you believe, YSO had never heard of Practical Classics!

Any idea what those trimz are from? Presumably not original to the HA, are they?

Some reet cheddar helmet gets more than he planned on, by braying his Focus off the limiter for an eternity at a Paul Walker 'memorial' krooze. In Aberdeen afaik.

Anyone can view the vids, so no worries if you aren't a Facebook wanker.

I think yet they might be,unless I'm making this up, which is entirely possible, they made a posh special edition HA van in that colour with chrome bits and wheeltrims. When I get chance I'll look through my brochures,I'm sure that's where I've seen it.

Thanks. Learn something new every day!

Must have been the equivalent in its day of those ludicrous Transit vans you occasionally see with alloy wheels and big white stripes painted up the bonnet...

Autoshite is going to save a Renault 6... probably.

I bet that Roy Walker or what ever his name was would have been well impressed with that meet.

^^^ This, i'm picturing an AS remake of the fast&furious "say what you see" Roy Walker driving Vulgs' princess against Dolls' sirion.

Indeed they did.  I'm pretty sure those trims were also used on posher models of the HA saloon too, although of course any left will now be impossibly old.

Went for a run today around some of Tivertons duller housing estates and happened upon this rather shite scene:

Volvo 480, Mitsubishi RVR and a Winnebago that doesn't look like its moved in about 10 years. Delightful.

LOL at that cruise knobhead, I hope his insurance send him packing.

I like the bit where everyone is just laughing at how it's going up in flames and just moves their cars away and leaves him to it. I suppose it's quite sad really.

I love the fact they'll spend £150 quid on rear lights that look like anal warts but not £50 on an extinguisher.

Someone wrapped an S-Body Nissan in Sunderland, when there was an impromptu open-air showing of the first film on the day of his death.

Wish I had seen that bit of dorifto.

I've seen a picture of a SAAB Turbo manifold and exhaust glowing red, I think it was during factory tests though.

All I have seen glowing like that have been FI and race engines. Mostly on a dyno.

Didn't mk1_4dr post a pic of his lolvo with glowing turbo/manifold?

They are standard wear on the Double Plus version which is what that one is...A plush version for corner shop owners!   Our local Vicar had one to replace his Beagle, presumably he found the HB/HC estates too ungodly!

Is that the downpipe?!

Yeah! Hence my amazement.

I would love to see how far back it was glowing.

When you have a turbo, it isn't that difficult to get it glowing. No matter how tiny.

Speaking of turbos, our own Captain Slow took me for a spin in his new motor and by golly it was quick.  I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you all what it is yet, so you'll have to guess.  I declined the opportunity to take it for a spin on account of my driving ability being of an insufficient standard to prevent myself from torque-steering into the nearest ditch.

as i discovered with a pinto engined mk2 transit, if the timing is far enough out you can make the manifold glow like that

If you monumentally thrash an Iveco Cargo 75E15 around Corwen, Bala and Dolgellau, by the time you get to Gwyndaf Evans's's's's Ford dealership your front brakes can resemble that manifold. Sadly that episode didn't end in fire though.
