Classics On Every Corner arrived today, my prize from PC for sending in a Spotted!  Ta very much Mr Hopkins!

 My "Spotted" was this...

...which I've since seen out-and-about a couple of times.  This morning on the way home from work, I spotted it in a used-car showroom that I pass every day!  So obviously I lowered the property values for an hour by leaving the Volvo outside while I went in and chatted to the youthful sales oik.  Apparently it's on loan from a local old-boy who is a serial restorer.  He does this regularly so they can have an eye-catching Christmas display.  Well it works, it caught mine!  I told him it was famous and it might be a nice touch to buy the old boy a copy of the mag.  Can you believe, YSO had never heard of Practical Classics!

New PC now working again.

Had the disc from my old PC attached with Win 7 installed. Stupid thing was trying to boot from that disc instead of its own, due to the genius configuration of the BIOS by the people who built it.

Ended up transferring 100GB of photos, about the same in films and 30GB in programmes. Got the graphics card working again so I can watch 1080p footage on my cack old Belina monitor.

You get some seriously powerful stuff on these rolling roads.

Yes, that is my old Mk1 BX estate! Kicking out 60bhp Yo!

were they strapping the fan to the front :D

That does somewhat look like the start of a weekend project to install a turbine in a Mk1 BX estate.  I'm off to patent that idea before someone else does.

In know it is the beautiful* new Mini but I found this fascinating... All those robots!

I wonder how much archive footage there is of shite in production out there?

I'm 4/5ths of the way through Louis Malle's "Humain, Trop Humain" on YouTube.  60 minutes of the Citroen GS production line at Aulnay-sous-Bois, with 15min of Paris Motor show in the middle.

Had one of the girls in the office ask me if I had any screenwash. Got me new 5l bottle of readymix out the XM and filled up her fiesta from empty. Then got colalred by another girl to fill up her 1 series, again from empty.

Both been driving round for days unable to see, both strangly happy that it's now fixed, and they dont have to think about it for a few weeks.

Bloody wummins, I gague my level by how much I use, not when it stops working.

Pics of the office girls staring at a dirty windscreen while looking perplexed (in short skirts) please

A common female tactic. Did they offer to pay you for the screen wash? Suspect not. :-)

One girl I work with uses this ploy on a regular basis for anything that needs doing to her car. All she has do do is mention that 'something is wrong with my car' and three or more blokes will spend their lunch hour happily fixing whatever it is. The fact that she is blonde and as fit as fuck may be a factor.

Am wise to it now after spending three hours trying to repair her broken CD player... In the car park... In the rain.

I fixed it, but nay shag resulted.

Scheming cow. :-)

After a mechanical rebuild, new paint job and many other bits and bobs, my jetski is 95% sorted.

Just a few jobs to do before it can return to the water, next Spring.

Today I have had the custom graphics I bought well over a year ago, fitted.

I am very happy with the result and it was worth paying to have them applied.

It's like night and day, compared to when I bought it.

I have also just realised that the trailers wheels look like Revolution's. I feel a paint job is necessary.

I queued behind some lass in Spar who was buying a couple of bottles of cheap bottled water. As I came out she was pouring them over the windscreen..... Binned empty bottles, got in, wiped window once and drove off.

Can't help thinking there was a more efficient way of using that water.

This thread on rr is quite interesting . He bought an e55 amg as a cat c and after fixing it and moting it when he took it for its Svi test he found not only was it cat b but it had a disposal scrap marker against it. After speaking to the Dvla and sending all the stuff through the post a v5 turned up and he's been driving it since. Just shows you can bring them back.

Interesting, my CG125 motorbike was a CAT B and the DVLA flatly refused to issue a V5, not only that but the insurance company cancelled my insurance when I informed them (the main reason I ended up breaking it, you couldn't tell from looking at or riding the bike).  I sent the DVLA what paperwork I had and informed them I'd scrapped it but it never got the marker put on it, still shows up on their vehicle enquiries as untaxed - then again I was never the registered keeper, neither was the previous owner who never got issued a V5 either.  They're nothing if not consistent!

Well, I am now officially down to this forum and Flickr. I had asked for my account to be suspended on the Rover site and that has finally been granted. I feel a weight off my shoulders. Sorry to the owner of the site who does sometimes frequent here but it had finally come to ahead. I bet that other self-appointed internet policeman moaning twat is still banging on

Mo - no need to apologise, it was your choice to go.  However, your recent behaviour on the forum had forced the hand of myself and the rest of the admin team - so the warning we gave was inevitable.

Hopefully this place suits you better :)

Went to a collectors fair today in a village hall in the middle of nowhere in a desperate attempt to get something for Mrs Rocker's Christmas present that didnt involve leaving the receipt inside.    Not much luck unfortunately but came home with brochures for a Panhard 24CT, Rover 2000 boot-mounted spare system and Citroen AMI6.   Oh, and a pretty decent Dinky Ferrari for £2.   Hope she likes 'em...

I've just had a lovely drive down to Norfolk and back, the way there was in the Beta Spider, which performed faultlessly as usual (if you ignore the broken speedo, fuel gauge other inconsequential bits). The way back was in my brothers V8 Range Rover classic, It's not a bad drive, but I'm not keen on it being on lifted springs, I preferred my old one with airbags.

Nice run there and back anyway. Hopefully I'll being doing the journey again in a few days once the RRC has a new MOT.

Thanks bro, glad you enjoyed the drive, she goes well for an old 'un doesn't she? even if she has been lifted a little.

Forgot to say you need to add about 10% to the speedo reading because of the wheel size.

Thats a bit late ... It's a good job I was stuck in traffic going past the speed cameras.

I was going to say it's not particularly stable above 70, but with the inaccurate speedo it was probably 80(ish).
