Cripes, Mk2Cav, not been in there in light years! Are Rab and Jacko still on there? Had some bloody brilliant times in that forum, there was loads of really great characters about. Used to stay up til the really early hours with some of the Scottish contingent on MSM and go to bed shaking with laughter afterwards.

Just testing uploading pictures on the 'new' forum but seeing this made me grin

I think those are those terrible wheels that have a wire basket fitted on top.  They always look better without the basket.

Definitely a scam, no-one would send a (mostly) correctly spelled offer for the full asking price which runs to more than one sentence.

I have to wonder, surely if no-one ever fell for this sort of thing they wouldn't do it, so presumably someone somewhere gets taken by this quite regularly.  Mind boggling.  Or perhaps not, given what I've learnt about people from the Facebook posts people have been posting on the eBay thread lately.

Junkman should buy them to match his near perfect, hardly ever worn, Mercedes.  He could drive to Africa.

There is a theory put forward by a researcher that they are deliberately written to sound like scams. The idea being that anyone with even the mildest skepticism will ignore it, leaving the scammer dealing with only the most unquestionably gullible.

I'm well pleased with myself, I just swapped a modern lump into my rickety old shite, and it works! Fast as fook!

I cloned my hard drive onto an ebay-sourced SSD using free software from Cnet, unscrewed the old drive, popped the new one in, and we're away.

It's proper bo, I tell thee!

Okay so I'm google imaging pictures of Cheryl Cole's tattoo (no, no, legit reason - someone wanted to show me it and was disappointed when I said I liked it). But that search also turned up a tattoo she tattooed on her tattoo artist...

Obviously not completely finished though, so let me crack open Photoshop and provide an Artist's impression of the finished job:

Nice work, Cheryl!

The text is bloody neat. Almost as if it was added on a computer later...

I look forward to the day when the shitty tattoo trend ends. Many a good looking girl ruined by massive ugly tattoos.

The director who lives near me caught me up this morning on the way to work so I had a good old hoon with a 59 audi A4 2.0 OMGBORINGBOX and did quite well, she commented about having to drop a gear every now and again to keep up!

No doubt I'll regret it when I run out of pez on weds rather than fri next week but meh!

Having one or two comically bad home made tattoos I'm going to reserve judgement on Ms Cole's efforts.

I think after having such slow modes if transports for ages this ZX is making me relive my youth by trying to do everyone off at the lights and what have you.

This morning I tried it in with some sporty looking new Clio and he sort of got stuck behind someone meaning a hollow victory was mine. Sadly I got the RLOD though, I suspect it's low on brake fluid and launching it through the gears has sloshed it about a bit and caused the brake light to come on.

I remember doing that in my ZX. Even for a 1.4 I lunched most things off the lights, and normally outran people on the roads!

Hope your light is brake fluid!

Nice to see that the Autoshite FB page is keeping the hard of thinking occupied.

Also, a nice picture of an early BX rescued from a scrapyard. I think it sums up the great things about the forum and the converse about the Facebook page. I tried to view a hilariously bad 'GLOF ATUO' eBay advert earlier and my S3 did a brainfart and locked up. 'Well, that'll be Android, bugged rubbish, wouldn't get that with iOS' chirp the Apple apologists. First time it's ever happened in 18 months of ownership, my fruity bassa.

Speaking of phone gibberish:

I finally got an N64 emulator to work on it. This means I can play Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Mario Kart on the bleeder. The touch sensitive controller's a bit odd until you get used it - then again, the N64's Gamepak was hardly the most logical thing in the world to start with.........

If AS was an in-game weapon, it would be a pair of Klobbs.

Funfact about Goldeneye: At one point the developers toyed with the idea of reloading your weapon by releasing and re-inserting the Rumble Pak like it was a gun magazine.

A couple of my BXs did that, both times the LHM level was just under the limit for the sensor when being driven enthusiastically round roundabouts.

LOL at that 'gobshites' comment though, typical FaceAche stuff. Incidentally, I remember that BX. One lad saved it and did all the hard work, then (iirc) someone else took it on.

all the lovely old cars lying around on my drive looking at me for attention while I cruise the web looking to buy more I haven't got storage for!

Someone over the the ARonline facebook page found this in a second hand shop today! Beer to celebrate the launch of the Maestro!

I'm sure that the reaction of many who saw the Maestro on release was to turn to drink.

I just realised, because of the collection of parts and the NEC classic car show, I might have FOUR whole Princesses at my house this weekend.  FOUR.  That's exciting.  Just a shame both of mine will be broken.

Yup. It was a two-stage resto, much like my Mk1 estate. I did the saving, now someone else is improving it further (it still looks shite though!). When Tim got the beige one, he gave bits of it a respray and replaced an iffy door. Which is still in my garage for some reason - donated to the Mk1 project but not needed in the end.

That beige one is an absolute honey - absolutely lovely to drive. Perhaps that's because it's the only BX I've driven with less than 100,000 miles on the clock (54k IIRC).

Was at a trackday at Oulton Park on Saturday...

This was out & about -

OP-24_zps881e51c0.jpg

The chap who owned it said it had a tuned Saab Turbo lump in the back (it was mid-engined)... Circa. 350bhp on low boost -> 500+bhp on high boost.

Amusing watching it negotiate a wet & greasy Oulton...
