Wot, no photos? Norm will be so disappointed....

Tonight I saw a matt black Transit with 'KEITH VAZZ (sic) IS A KNOB' in 2 foot high letters on the side.

Having recently met the Member for Leicester East, I can confirm this as an accurate appraisal... :|

Putting the interior back into the 604. This made me grin.

(Although the stupid 'bendy runner' seat mountings really are irritating)

I'd promised myself another one of these when I retired, decided I couldn't wait that long.

You've bought it? Man, I can only dream of one of these. Congratulations!

Latest car swap offer madness:

Do I want an elderly Toyota Avensis* and a parrot that can wolf whistle** as a swap for my car?

*No, if I wanted to inhale the fumes of piss and biscuits I'd go to the nearest Post Office on Wednesday morning and spent 17 hours queuing up as Mrs Jones bought 2,171 seperate items for her elderly neighbours and discussed the price of the stamps/bus tickets/newspapers and gave all and sundry an update on the doctor her grand daughter married in Australia.

**No, one psychotic bird is enough already thanks.

I had to go out today: post office and hospital, neither of which is far away. Took the X1/9, with the roof off. Turned out of my road, and down to the main road where I had a left turn again. I don't mind stopping there as the view is brilliant, straight down the hill, overlooking Paphos, and a good slice of the Med included. And the sun was shining. Came home along some back roads and found yet another old car to photograph, this time a big Merc, about 1970. I'll post the pic another time, but it's always nice to find another old car... Even the mundane jobs can raise a grin here.

And I thought our club calendar was good... (Mine's the July page  )

I think theres an opprotunity for a real-life version of that calendar, with fat tracksuited women getting broken plasterboards out the back of a Kia Sedona at Crewe tip (in a 'sexy' way obv) and the like.

I worked with Grayson Perry a few years ago. It was at an art gallery I work at. I sat and had lunch with him and the curators, they just asked him about his art constantly and so I piped up and asked about his bike outside. He talked about motorbikes for ages and my employers were horrified that me (without an art degree) could hold down a better conversation with him.

Just watched that show BTW.

What makes me grin ?? Seeing a boy racer burned off at the lights by a classic motor !

I will have to get round to having a online gallery account to link too. The Elf is a Florentine blue with a OEW roof;I used to call it my little Smurf !

Bizarrely, the search for my counterpart driving license has made me grin. Despite taking up my entire fugging evening (and a significant chunk of yesterday evening), it has been an enlightening experience searching through box after box of long-forgotten crap - I found several things I thought I'd lost, including my only photo of my first car (Mk3 Escort van), and a photo of my third ever car (and the start of me having a multi-car fleet), a beige Citroën Visa 14TRS, which I had no idea existed. Oh, and I also found my driving license, so I should manage to avoid a fine for failing to produce. :D

This it?

RileyElfMk21968.jpg

Yes,thats the colour scheam of mine, although mines on the standard Riley hubcaps, and has the black and white plates. Most Elf's and Hornets lose their bumper over-riders during the passing of time, but I got a full set for mine soon after getting it,and whilst it sets the front off nicely, the back ones in a certain angle look a little bit clumsy.

I suppose also, having Mrs Ramrod back will allow the brain to see these simple, lovely things in a different and wonderful light. I am so pleased for you Eddy. :):):)

I've seemed to had a bit off interest on my flickr yesterday, first i had Top Gear email me asking if they can use a few photos for a trailer and car feature on their website and then I've had 12300 hits in the one day, mostly on a Talbot advert!

Posted

Hope you've charged Top Gear! I've got one of my Flickr pics going in a Top Gear book. It did cost them.

I have just been to the DVLA to pick up a tax disc and apply for a V5.

As I was queueing up some chap came out from the office behind and shouts out 'Mr Crisp? Is there a Mr Crisp here?'

The guy next to me says 'Err......Yeah, I'm Mr Crisp......Um......' and the DVLA chap says 'Do you own a black BMW 535i' 'Er.....yes' replies Mr Crisp.

'Well your number plate is illegal, it has extra spaces in. You are not allowed to have a number plate with that spacing on your car'.

LOLZ. The whole queue was pissing themselves at him.

Would you be able to charge for a scanned Talbot advert? Surely the money should go to PSA.

Posted

I never charge, I know i properly should but i don't think I'm good enough for starters and I pinch another other photos from the web to post on forums so I feel i should share the love.

Just as long as they ask and credit the photos to me then I'm happy.

If they're your photos, then you must be good enough or they wouldn't be asking to use them. ;)

Manufacturers pics is an odd one. They sound out LOTS that are free for editorial use, but then photo libraries collect them and decades later charge for their use. (not something I do!)

Very true i guess, They have asked for these two.
