The fragments of plastic bag mixed in with the salt probably isn't environmentally sound?

Give the lucky winner a garden sieve to put it through.

Grump that turned into a grin.  Ordered some cavity wax off eBay, the parcel arrived on time but when I opened it it contained a tin of fibreglass filler.  This is far from the first time recently that an eBay seller has sent out the wrong item.  I messaged them via eBay, but then the next day the cavity wax I'd ordered showed up as well.  So I've ended up with a free tin of fibreglass filler, which is nice as it's getting bloody expensive to buy now.

Surely if the bags disintegrated they are bio-degradable? What’s the problem?

Normal lidl is good, but only to about -5 in 5litres. The heavy duty was also 5litres for about £10 but good for a lot lower and melted ice on the screen.

Managed to get some -10 stuff at the Jet garage in Dalmellington. Windscreen washers started working straight away. Nice one. :D

Well fuck me, we're officially in the current century.

I'm streaming a movie from Amazon Prime.

Screenwash etc...

I have never used screenwash in my life. But then I do live on the balmy South Coast.

The Škodas have the washer bottle inside the engine bay above the gearbox quite near the engine so even if they do freeze, it's never for very long. It's held in with two bolts and all wiring and pipework is easily visible and accessible.

The Triumph is even better. It's on the front bulkhead here.

Mere inches from the washer jets. And if we shine a torch down there you'll see the exhaust downpipes.

And the manifold is just in front of it so I basically have heated washers. So simple but so obvious.

Coming out of work yesterday one of my colleagues says her washers have stopped working. Could be frozen I thought but then she says it's been like it for five days and she drives 13 miles to work, plus its a Volvo so it really should be up to a little cold weather. I couldn't hear a motor when she pulled the switch so I said pop the bonnet, we'll have a look. Opened the bonnet and there is I filler cap connected to a tube disappearing down into oblivion. Obviously there is a wheel arch liner but there is absolutely no way of telling if the washer bottle is inside the engine bay or under the wheelarch. At least not without getting down on the floor and getting underneath which I didn't want to do. Whilst doing all this I noticed a patch of ground underneath that was wetter than the rest so I assumed there was leak somewhere and it's squirting water on the floor instead of up where it should but there was absolutely no way of getting to it, or even seeing any of it without major dismantling. I walked away feeling slightly smug about driving what I do.

My Mrs got a 30 day prime trial, and while she was at work I thought "Eh up, they do movie streaming " so I've watched Drive and Baby Driver.

Overall it’s worth having. But buying films and programs it’s often cheaper on dvd which is mad.

drive is one of those films I did like, but sat all through with an impending sense of dread.

Convenience probably. You have to leave the house for a dvd.

Yes, I liked Drive.

Bini has one like this hidden behind the bumper. It's not possible to do anything with it unless you take off at least the n/s wheel. Just the job in this weather.

That's almost a grumpy thread - Ok what makes me grin today is the fact that our 2004 vintage Suzuki quad (400cc, single cylinder, air cooled) has started on the button, every morning. Last night we were down below -10 degrees and it's been that way since last Friday. Thaw starts Saturday, rain on Sunday 'they' say.
Value added grin is the way that it can move across sheet ice/packed snow - dead handy with 100 litres of water on board :-) . On the way back minus the water fun to be had.

I buy a fair number of DVDs, cheaper than streaming and I don't want to be tied to monthly subscriptions*

They are mostly very cheap, in the region of a couple of quid from Music Magpie mainly.  Game of Thrones cost bugger all.

But, recently bought a not-so-cheap one that I have been going to get since I saw it on the telly years ago, "The Year Of Living Dangerously", thirty-odd quid for an old second hand one.  That would have been cheaper to stream but my telly doesn't do that anyway.

The other was £130, a 'box set' of Myléne Farmers "Avant que l'ombre..." concert. Two CDs and two DVDs in a 'glass coffin' (plastic) in a posh box with a picture book and a limited edition certificate.

Allegedly cost over a grand when new.

I have a pile of unwatched ones, some over ten years here and still unopened.  One day.

*had an email a couple of days ago from a film streaming site that claimed I had subscribed to them and they would lift fifty quid from my PayPal account.

Letterboxd if anyone gets one.  Just a scam.  Tried to block them but got nowhere with PP so closed the account.

More intrigued.

Can someone explain this. I'm wearing a navy blue fleece. Yet underneath this throw we have on the settee it goes bright pink. I've no idea why I found this interesting.

Doesn’t seem that expensive a problem but I’ve no idea who they are. Not a buzzing metropolis.
