I may be attempting to use this joke as often as possible today...

The above - with someone mentally challenged how to fix a shagged out old £200 rotter would be perfect for this place.......

Grin and grump,

Flew through my work this morning all done for 11am when the client says, [Columbo accent on]

"There's just one more thing"

[Columbo accent off]

Arse no early day for me :(

Finished paying for my Electrical NVQ this month. Haven't finished the qualification yet but that's a monthly £200 bill now done with.

Saw the aftermath of this accident today. Not a grin per se, but looks like Mr BMW paid the price for trying to cut in at the last minute

Those A2 boys just love a smash-up. They just can't help it.

Many will be in blissful ignorance, but for those of you in BSI 9001:2008 regulated companies we had our 2015 readiness assessment today. I spend hours over this at home ( as it was too noisy to think at work). First thing the assessor said today was that it was the best she'd read! Said she'd like me to teach some of her other clients how to do it.

My first thought was that if mine was the best, I'd hate to see the others!

A couple of areas to concentrate on, but otherwise tick VG.

Also, the September billing for august's work is 45p less than the historic record high, but still a record for September. A grump really as it means I'm down an extra bonus that would have paid for recent paint on the X1/9.

Washing machine decided earlier to throw a wobbly. Seemingly "crashing" every time it's wants to empty. I'll have a look inside it says I to the wife. Might as well she says, whilst looking at new ones on the net.

I took the pump off, removed the golf pencil stuck in the impeller and put it back together again. Now working fine, £250 saved.

I know it's been said plenty of times on here, but if it's it broke and you're resigned to buying a new one anyway, what's the harm of having a look yourself. Can't break summat that's already broke.

Our Indesit has had at least five stays of execution that way.... various things in the pump. Got quite used to coming home to find Mrs Pillock has stripped it down on the kitchen floor. The only non-pump one was an underwire poking through the drum.

Which is a shame, as I'd love a new washing machine.

I had cause to be washing machine shopping last year, so went to currys for a look around. The wifi connected touch screen one was set up as a demonstrator so i had a little play with it. The sales bloke came bounding over, obviously thinking he was going to get an easy sale "what do you think about this one then ?" he quipped, his face was a picture when I responded "it's flipping ridiculous, who the hell will buy that ?"

I had a quick look around the normal machines, chose the one I wanted then went home and ordered it off their website for free delivery.

Nice story, but not true unfortunately but that joke did get Stan Boardman banned off the BBC when he told it before the watershed. I don't think I have ever seen him on anything since that.

Grin and Grump - <the EBAY TAT thread...... I don't find time to scour everything and often use this as a sounding board or wishlist. So thanks for that........ of course it also highlights I'm in Belgium and it doesn't matter how genuine you are - everyone outside UK must come across as a scammer initially - so grump. Does make for some excellent collection ventures though when they'll take your hard earned - so grin again......... (I think)

Yep, I have "saved" the washer, dishwasher and oven several times with a bit of tinkering/parts swapping. Even got a few more months out of the Digi box by taking the lid off and hoovering it.

People go all "omg you're so clever" but it really isn't that hard to Google the problem and either press the right sequence of buttons to clear the fault on the washer or watch a YouTube video to see how you change the motor brushes. It's just frustrating that sometimes a handful of parts can take you up to half of the price of a whole new (but probably crap) machine.

I put a new drum spider and bearings in a machine a few years ago, that along with cleaning the filters got about four more years from it. Not bad for a cost of £35.

The 'rents are getting the roof done so the loft has had to be cleared. Amoung much detritus there was the odd wee box of keepsakes that took me back to when I was about 8 years old.

However, one item (made of two), I was looking forward to seeing again resurfaced and after throwaway comments featuring the words "sell" and "ebay" were made, I decided I am claiming it for myself for when I get my own place. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Made between 1977-1980 by Bang & Olufsen, the amp reciever is a Beomaster 4400 and the turntable is a Beogram 4002.

Sadly the original tape deck and speakers were given away some years ago but speakers can be bought and easily wired up and eBay can be used to drag up a tape deck if need be. However I have been feeding it a line level source from my PC to one of the tape inputs and very happily being deafened through my headphones for the last 2 hours now.

My godparents have a slightly more modern one of these in their living room still. It's all black rather than wood, but has all the controls. They've already given me their sports car, is it rude to ask for the bang and olufson too?

B and O. Mmm, niiice. In the 80's a mate had a B&O setup. Sound was superb and I was insanely jealous because I could only afford a Marantz. Which were pretty good, but not a B&O.

I presume you have decent head phones. My mate had B&O headphones, if I remember correctly  , and they were kin amazing.

This is going to sound odd, but having my tooth out today has made me smile as it was nowhere like as horrific an experience as I expected.

My employer has a B&O tv and sound system that is worth more than I earn in about 5 years if I remember rightly. The screen has never worked since rough-arsed movers set it up, but the sound is stunning. His wife was making noises about encouraging him to give it away so they can use the room for something else.....Im DEFINATELY having that if it goes.

I have a pair of B&Q bluetooth phones I bought for plane travels (which I do once a week) - very pleased with 'em.

I always wanted one of those turntables though - they were so very different.

They did flat screen (not slim) tellys before anyone else IIRC
