Gah! I guess I should have checked (chequed) after posting  I'm used to 8 & ) doing that but not B. Bloody emoticon shortcuts.

People earwigging on other folk's conversations.

Bumped into a former colleague in the roll shop this morning who enquired if I was "back working for Dick". The lassie in the queue behind us looked like she was about to choke at the thought of a man working purely for penis, but was blissfully unaware that my boss is in fact called Dick.

Thankfully said ex-colleague didn't enquire where I had been working previously as until October I had been working for Boaby.

It reminds me of this clip of these northern ghost botherers.

Thats a fair swap-you'd need to pay £120 to get the scrappy to take it;)

Small things/small minds interface. Go this made today and stuck it on the back of the Vectra...

Was moaning (as I do quite a bit!) about the dog ripping the cover over the rear seat on the car yesterday to the woman upstairs, Today, knock on the door and there's the woman from upstairs with a BIG bag... she'd only gone to a charity shop and bought me/the dogs a bloody great blanket to cover the seats with!

Wouldn't take any money off me either :)

What is that towing thing for Billy?

Today I got offered a new job in Liverpool, I am so relieved I'll not have to commute to Leamington Spa in a few weeks from now!

A long time ago I posted in the grumpy thread about someone buying and "renovating" the house one across and down from chez Ghosty.

Well, they built a two-car drive and got rid of the garage in lieu of rooms, proceeding to use up the whole drive to park their Octavia VRS estate.

This family has visitors pretty much daily (parents?) and there is at least one of a Yaris and an SLK parked there each day. But they don't use the fucking drive, they park on the pavement, and most of the time outside other people's houses, such as opposite ours. This really irks me - what if we need to put the Bini on the pavement to use the garage?

This was the case today so I instructed Mother Ghosty to double park - we live in the house we're parked outside so if anyone has a problem I'll direct them to this bloody Yaris.

Didn't seem to work as the gap was big enough for anything - even a Transit. It's a residential road people often use as a cut-through.

Everyone was getting through the gap fine, and I'm watching people pass through while I help Old Man adjust the Civic's tracking (by kicking the wheels) on the drive.

Except one middle aged posh bint woman in an A3 who comes bombing down and stops looking really frustrated, and just reverses back off up the road.

I love laughing at these faux-middle class types.

4 years ago,My dad found a set of TR6 wheels with good tyres and hubcaps in a hedge and gave them to me.

I sold them to a mate for £40 he put them on his scimitar

He gave up driving due to age and gave me the car they are fitted to and a spare set of (better/correct) wheels which I'm going to put on

The phone rings last night, a guy asks "do I have a set of wheels for a TR6" :)

Leamington Spa or Liverpool? somehow I don't think I would ever choose Liverpool out of that pair unless we are betting on the outcome of a football match.

It's the screw in towing eye on the Vectra. I've pulled a few cars back using this (and a tope rope or towing pole) so it's been quite handy hence leaving it screwed in.

After piloting a fairly careworn (mechanically) Dennis Trident all week I jumped into the BX to go home to change my under crackers for the next week of 'fun'.

After ball joint fettling and a tracking job it all seems rather pleasant! I love this car again, yay! (Okay and after another play with the pump after winding the smoke down for the mot).

A couple of wishbones, I think, will make this BX proper. Then onto the engine/box/body/something else.....

That train looks like a Piazza.

I deleted my image cache and fixed it, but firstly it was funny so thought I'd share, and secondly might help others with the same issue.

I love tat spotting in Essex, today I went from finding a Morris Eight Tourer to a Hyundai Pony Pickup to an XR2 within 10 minutes of each other.

Postman brought a shiny HBOL for my almost-acquired Shite addition this morning. I went back to bed, and spent another 30-40 minutes reading it avidly.

Reading. A. Haynes. Manual. For my own pleasure, instead of... I dunno, getting up and having a life?

I'm not sure whether to weep softly at the state of my life, or rejoice in my utter failure to be normal.

Morrisons seem to be having a run on decent tunes in their supermarkets lately. Today's highlight was prefab sprout - king of rock and roll.

Cheered me up.

PLUS newly acquired Autoshite dealer sticker installed on SWMBOS rear window. Response was the usual apocalyptic until I reminded her who it was who looked after the thing at no cost to her sweet self.

Nowt wrong with reading a Haynes, but the only books I want to read in bed showed greased under carriages of an entirely different nature.

There is a fair amount of tat dotted about in Tottenham / Edmonton in those side roads off Fore Street.

Pictures or it didn't happen Ken  ;-)

Went to collect Starter Motor from Argos yesterday, I'd had my eBay purchase sent there. Lady bought box out with Starter Motor in. You lot know how big a starter motor is, yeah, so this was a bit worrying....

The set of keys is superfluous with the cars there. Err, is it the starter motor for a... Centurion tank?

One averagely fast ford and a very fast ford , my cousin is a trader and it came in a while back but he loves it to much to flog on, the bloke who built it had a massive thread on some fast ford site where they all licked his balls cos of this part and that part he fitted.

Anyhow its proper no messing no internet bull shit 700bhp claims fast. It got me a little scared.
