Currently watching "Kirsty's Vintage House" on Channel Four (with that Kirsty Allsorts, I'd hit it but really don't know why type).

Does anybody else think that, in 20 years time, we'll all be looking back our ridiculous efforts to make our domestic interiors look "vintage" with the same disdain as we do those '60s "home improvements" programmes that told us to wrap everything in fablon and get rid of all our Victorian features?

My house was built in 1991 and is as authentically 1991 as it's possible to be.

I hope we look back in horror at our love of horrible white plastic windows and doors. I can't wait to see people ripping those out in large numbers. Have you noticed how devoid of colour most streets are thanks to this plastic shite? How many houses lovely big bay windows have been ruined with chunky framed uPVC replacements?

The kitchen in my gaff is a solid wood job from the mid eighties. I had a mate round (who owns a kitchen firm, so he knows his stuff) to do some measurements for a new kitchen. He told me "You'd be mad to rip this out mate, that's top quality stuff. You're looking at 10 grand plus to replace it with something as good"". So it's staying! It look like something from a 1986 middle-class sitcom.

I have, stashed away in my parents loft, a Hitachi music centre the exact same as the one that Geoffrey Palmer listened to Gregorian Chant through in "Butterflies".

I went out with a bird once who looked like something from a 1980's middle class sit com. Sadly she looked more like Terry Scott than Wendy Richard.

I have a recurring nightmare that I have woken up next to Zoe Wannamaker (of My Family "fame"). She reminds me of the cartoon people in those smartarse Lloyds adverts.

I think I've posted a picture of this plane before but I thought the story might appeal to shiters. Click to go to Flickr and then you have the option to view large.

My Boss just turned up in a Bentley Arnage he's thinking about buying. A 2004 model 6 3/4 litre v8 Twin Turbo. He took us out for a little run in it and it's a totally stunning car. It's black with back quilted leather interior, which has to be the best spec.

I guess it's the last proper Bentley before they became all VW? His other car's a 4.2 Supercharged Ranger Rover so he must love hanging out at petrol stations.

Wasn't that a special edition?

I'm sure I saw one on Top Gear or one of these shows years ago. Fantastic cars, I really like the black interiors on them, they look so much meaner than the normal pale beige you get in Bentleys and Rollers.

It's a Mulliner so has a load of extra nice bits on it. The dash is pure old school Rolls Royce but will dark wood and aluminium.

Just after we arrived back in dear old Blighty, I did what I occasionally do and bought a copy of a magazine called Model Collector, for such I am. Among their opening pages, they habitually review a selection of new releases, with photo; and you can send in the form to enter a draw for a random model from the crop. So I did. Imagine my delight, upon coming in from work the other day, to find Postwoman Pat has left me a brown-wrapped box... containing one of the models. :D But wait, not just any model: an Otto 1/18 representation of the Peugeot 306 Maxi driven by Gilles Panizzi on the 1997 Tour de Corse! Lush!

Some satisfying little indoor jobs today. Can hardly call them DIY because they were so small, but I feel better for doing them. Been out for a ride in the van, probably the furthest it's gone under its own steam in at least 5 years - Ulverston and back! :D Coastal road, sun shining, A-series humming gently... one could begin to feel that all was right with the world.

Excellent result!

The last 3 seconds suck some what but the rest was quite enjoyable, even had a Peugeot 504 Estate feature in it.

Yeah, I agree. Shame that in an otherwise moderately entertaining programme with some interesting old cars, they still couldn't resist acting like complete cunts for that few seconds clip.

Last Friday evening saw a range rover a framing a new looking beavertail truck east bound on the m4 not far from Newbury.

Made me chuckle, would have posted sooner but for obvious reasons

The NEC. Obviously couldn't post about it sooner.

Had a cracking day out on the Sunday, managed to get a SEAT Malaga range brochure off the £1 brochure stand and came home really motivated to get something done!

Mum gets up this morning.

"Morning ma'. Larry Hagman's died." (she loved Dallas)

"Aww naw. He was a fair age though. Did he leave his eyebrows to anyone?"

A chap in Halfrauds just asked the girl behind the counter to 'put some oil in my car because the light on my dashboard has come on'. During these few words he lost so many man points he practically grew tits right before my eyes.
