I was at the petrol station about to go to cooplands. My mate was filling her car up, so I walked up and just opened her drivers door.... She was still completely oblivious.

 

So I'm stood there door open as she puts £10.07 in and then she sees me and is terrified for a split second as she thinks I'm gonna steal her car or her bag. 

I didn't have time to hide in the back. 😢

200 and 300 Tdi Defenders (1990-1999) didn't have any form of ecu apart from some 300 Tdis* which had a basic ecu which was there to control the EGR valve operation (this could be removed without impairing the engine function). Compare and contrast with the Td5 which does have an ECU and shitloads of wiring for stuff that tends to alienate traditional Landy owners.

* 300Tdi Discovery Autos did have a electronically controlled pump.

I'm really feeling like I did well with this car. £870 blind on ebay last summer. Everything works, including air con. And now a hassle-free MOT. I have changed the thermostat and re-bushed the gear linkage and done nothing else, apart from putting diesel in the tank
