I'll probably go to my friendly mechanic Les and sheepishly ask him to fix my cock up, as not sure I can be bothered! Despite trying to lever it out the other end, the remains of the sensor are lodged solid. Car still drives so that's the main thing.

Its not for me to stick my nose in, but unless Les is unusually versatile this could be a request that threatens your friendship.

I have just got home and found an email to say I had won an MG ZR with 11 months MOT but dented this afternoon for £196, I was looking forward to collecting it and the next email said the seller had cancelled the order. There was no discussion so I can only think the seller thought it was too cheap and would not part with it.

I was watching this... If the seller thinks it's worth more than £200, he's a dreamer !

How about this one instead ? It looks better than the green one and is still cheap. Two hours to go !

It's probably just the photo or my eyes but the rear wheel looks to be at a bit of a squiffy angle.

I did pm the seller and this was the reply I got, I don't think I want it now anyway.

"Hi I finished the order earlier than what is was meant to because someone made an offer of 300 for it and I accepted. When I ended the listing it told me that you had one it so that is why I cancelled it.

Since then the person has not responded to my messages so I'll let you know what's happening."

So basically a bullshit way of saying he wants £300. Wait, don't reply, and when he realises your not chomping at the bit and messages you if you are still interested, offer your winning bid :-P

I've got Monday and Tuesday off, and rather than do home improvement shit that is just plain BORING I'll be going Very North tomorrow to do some shite swappage. I cleaned the Mongdeo in readiness for the trip, but the forecast looks grim so it'll no doubt look filthy again when I arrive.

I haven't done a proper road trip for ages so am really looking forward to it, especially the homeward leg!

The Metro is booked in for its MoT on Tuesday and I haven't had a chance to give it the once over, so I'll just have to hope on that one. But I only did 400 miles in it last year so should be OK. Note to self - use it more (but I say that every year....)

This afternoon I helped a friend move his car 30 miles, what a treat to drive a BX again as I have not driven one for a while.

Yesterday I had my dad round to help me with the brakes on the Dolomite, the pedal drops when you have pressure on it and the Brake light says on. We already rebuild the master cylinder and replace other parts to no avail but a read online says the PWDA valve which transfers the braking power between front and rear could be at fault so I ordered a repair kit for It which is basically 2 tiny O rings and a copper washer for £9!

post-3625-145487883506_thumb.jpg

First we replaced all the brake hoses to rule them out and the removed this valve which was a right faff, I had to cut my nice 11mm brake pipe spanner in half just to get all the 5 pipes of this valve as the access is poor.

After rebuilding it and putting it all back together again we bleed the brakes which took 3/4 litre of DOT4 only to find the fluid was pissing out the switch on the valve... Arse. So off it all came again and stripped down to find one of the O rings got a chunk sliced out of it when we pushed the piston back in. FFS.

I'm fed up of the mechanical pump leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold and the fans sucking oil smoke into the cabin.  This is a problem the Princess has had since I fitted the pump, but less annoying than the problem with the electric that couldn't deliver enough fuel at motorway speeds to keep the engine running.  Anyway, I've gone and bought a little Facet Posi-flow which should do the trick.  Obviously I've bought it second hand on eBay for less than a tenner which means keeping the mechanical one in the boot for when the new* electric one inevitably fails.

Yep, I'm looking forward to getting the two together for a group shot. I also want an early satin red Omega estate, so all teh red Voxhalls belong to me. But that'll have to wait as can't afford both!

So I'm now on the hunt for some parts for this, I'm looking for a BOSCH pump & mounting bracket to start with oh and a green windscreen! PM me please folks if you can help.

It'll probably want new tyres come the time too, but that's some way off yet.

My local guy got me a green screen new last year .... i have complete engine and box with bosch pump stored at a mates unit along with most of a non turbo and most of a turbo car too

I'm seeing that too.

Rear trailing arm bush I think? Can't quite remember but I've seen something similar happen before on a car with IRS.

Is it an MOT item as the car has 11 months?

Wants checking - it could just be the pic but it could also have had a recent numpty>handbrake>kerb incident.

It has a torsion beam rear axle.

Oh, I had it in my head they were IRS for some reason.

Just had a visit from RobT and Six-cylinder. Long way to come for a day out! They've gone to the seaside now.
