I'm moving house today from the Saaath to the East Midlands with the Rover as my removal van. I thought about doing a LIVE thread now I have a smart but then thought nobody would care enough. That is all.

You definitely need more cars, I can see that from your signature.

I am off to Witney car auction tonight with my friend, to see if we can find him an estate car or medium 4x4 to tow his new caravan.

He towed the caravan home using my Xantia V6 but does not want to keep using ithe Xantia in case something goes wrong with it!

Just finished fully rustproofing the Landcruiser using Bilt Hambers finest and i'm bloody knackered and filthy, all i've got to do is is bolt the engine and front underbody protection plate back on when the paint is dry and its all done.

So thats 12 x 750ml aerosols of UB underbody wax, 3 x 750ml aerosols cavity wax injected, and a fair amount of rust converter applied before the waxes all for the chassis/suspension and inside the sills, plus 5 x 500ml cans of Regel underbody wax i had in stock used on the petrol tank and its under protection plate plus all inner wings, decided not to bother painting the rear axle before waxing this time, just applied more coats of the UB stuff instead...about 12 hours work altogether.

That's cost me around £200 in materials, and i reckon i've done a better job than the professionals who would have charged £450+.

If anyone's interested i'll take some pics of the finished job.

Is that the one that went for £450 on ebay?

Yep, hopefully collecting this weekend, fuck knows where I'm going to put it ...

I've wanted one for years, but keep buying other cars instead, I missed one last year then bought this Merc. Now the Merc is going to go to make room for what I should have bought in the first place.

£1500 for a mossy Aerodeck.  That's hilarious.

We'll see how i get on with the Aerodeck before making plans for doing any work on it. I am quite fickle, so I may not get on with it,  but if I like it then it should be a keeper, & the rust would be sorted (at some stage)

Yes, that one at £1500 with no MOT and in worse nick than the one I should be buying is a bit of a joke.

Am I imagining it ,or was there a big American Aerodeck sold here after these and before the Rover 600 one?

I think I remember driving one in about 1992 ,could have been a Camry ,thinking about it, ignore me.

Yes.

The one offered contemporaneously with the 600 related Accord was also a version of the US (rather than Euro) Accord.

Anyone seriously interested in taking the Princess and Renault off my hands, please drop me a message.  I've finally just had enough of not being able to get them sorted and I want them gone.

I don't want to scrap them, parts are too valuable for both, but I just want shut.

£400 for the Princess and all its spares.

£150 for the Renault and all its spares.

I got 2 new front tyres on the Rover today. BF Goodrich G-Grip.

The (correct) 185 55 15s were £59 each

The same tyres, in 195 55 15 were £41 each. WTF?

I got the 195s...

Really?   I don't know the circumstances obviously but I have been following your threads for years and after all the energy and effort you have put in to these cars it seems such a shame.   Is there any way you can put them to one side for a while until mojo returns?

As I've got a pair of new tyres on the way for the Starlet I thought I'd take the alloys off and give them a paint as they were scabby and missing some paint, I wish I hadn't bothered, I forgot what a ballache rubbing wheels down were, my fingers cane now.

I also found that the spare has a brand new tyre on it so I didn't need to buy a pair of new ones, I could have just bought one and swapped them over saving myself £50. I've also found that a CV boot has split which I need to change before next month's MOT.

Really?

Yep. Finally had enough of the whole drama of it.

I got like that with my 1983 Mini Sprite. Gave it away in the end.

Flog the 6 on ebay for a few hundred quid, Use the proceeds to pay someone to weld up the princess and get it through a test?

[edit just seen the other thread about it]

Another 270 miles in the XM tomorrow. Looks like a nice day for it. Passed through Two Smoke's neck of the wood today, but sadly on a train. Saw a late, gold Reliant Robin though. Otherwise, Cornwall has disappointed with its lack of rusty old tat.
