A friend of mine had a fat arse Megane DCi which lived up to form and expired in a smokey, over-revving catastrophe on the hard shoulder of the autoroute.

She binned it and bought a Citroen C4 instead. Also diesel.

Who are you and what have you done with the real CavCraft?

Would it help if I said I also went to Lookers and spent 15 minutes eying up the latest Corsa (E?) and the Vauxhall Adam?

Mum attempts to drive Polo into garage for exhaust replacement by Old Man (he can't do it himself, one key + OCD means she's like Gollum with the fucking key).

She's gone too far to one side and broken one of the mirrors off, because for some reason the twats at VW put non-folding electric mirrors on it.

I wait with excitement to see how Old Man bodges it, and I bet it involves fucking eBay instead of just going to a scrappy.

Currently in the process of negotiating to buy 'that' Volvo 760 Turbo and correspondingly I am filled with a mixture of excitement and dread...

There's an ad on TV for the new Corsa showing lots of different Corsa owners over the years.

I always wonder which one is you.

He's the one that decided a 206 1.4hdi was preferable...

There are no words, phwoar.

(sadarse mode: notes similarities to Ashes to Ashes Quattro's 'plate)

This morning, I drove The Wentworth for the last time, in order to get it to my workplace where it awaits collection by its new owner for use as a spares source for her tricked-out 940 Classic LPT. Yes, that is a Scorpio Cosworth in the corner:

As it isn't due to go until the middle of next month, I intend to remove a few parts from it that will be useful spares for The Volvo, such as the mudflaps, rear wiper linkage, spare wheel, jack, tool kit and electric aerial. I have already swapped over the road wheels (fitted with nearly new Yokohama tyres) and the steering wheel, which have made quite a difference to the feel of the car. I lament the fact that The Wentworth has a black interior, as opposed to a grey one like The Volvo's, as I would have put the former's seats in the latter, but it did come with an almost as-new grey parcel shelf/load cover when I bought it last April, which immediately replaced The Volvo's sun-damaged original ;)

Pawnote: still looking for another daily driver...

WOW!1!!!!!!1!1!!!!11!!!!!!!

I was looking at Panhard 24s last night when I was pissed spurred on by Johnny 69's Ami for some obscure French tat. How much is one of them these days if you don't mind me asking? Don't worry if you don't want to divulge, its just that I want one and would like to know how much I need to save up.

Panhard looks 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)  RHD too. Is it a original UK car????

I liked Barrett more when he only had broken Bonds.  This new Barrett seems altogether too successful and is having too much fun.  I wish I was Barrett.

I hardly took any photos today, a full report will be forthcoming.

HillmanImp, plenty on leboncoin to choose from, but I doubt another UK car will come up any time soon. Only 50 rhd cars built and maybe half a dozen survive but I think this is the only one on the road. Only 18 flat twin Panhards over here at all, of which we have had four...

Break from DIY to run to the tip, so I took a photoz

I have worked out what I dislike about BINIs and the new DS brand. They are Kelly Osborne. In other words, they're trying to find success because they have a famous parent, even though they lack the talent that brought their family success. I really do despise the new DS brand.

In actual car news, I drove the 2CV a bit today and the XM returned to the driveway yesterday. Its brakes seem fine. 2CV now on 199,315 miles. Need to get a few hundred more covered. Roll on pay day! I need a roadtrip.

Popped out to Aldi this evening (in Southend) and when I came out of the shop an immaculate looking white BX was parked next to the Maestro. Obviously intentional, as the car park was pretty much deserted. It wasn't one I had seen on the road before (BXs of all ages are hard to see these days) but I know where it lives and EssDeeWon has papped it. The owner has a DS as well.

Got a picture on my phone but it wasn't great due to the light.

Well, because Barrett is crap and obviously enjoying himself too much with highly desirable tat, here's a video I stole of Panhard wiper oddity.

^I would go cross eyed and/or have accidents whilst distracted with wipers like those! There are great though.

I wonder what sort of mad linkage is responsible under the scuttle
