Ha! Just done my first job in the van, 1.5 loads of old shit for the tip. Nearly all old wood from a twatted down shed and fence, I'm covered in splinters now!

Went for a picnic that involved taking a baddermatic E-class tank estate up Porlock Hill ( zuuummmerset )fully loaded with 2 fat bxstards and missuses and enough food to feed several African nations . In case you don't know Porlock Hill it's as steep as fook and twisty turny so you can't get a run up! Any how the torque converter and gearbox smelt lovely and hot so I'm hoping that, as the gear box oil hasn't been changed in 15 years all the burnt cruncy bit have smoked off. Any thoughts on this?!

Was involved in a hit & run this afternoon. Cuntclot in a 62-plate Octavia taxi mounted the centre reservation to try to get round my schoolbus at a junction and made a riproaring cunt of himself when he caught his passenger side doors on the corner of my (bright yellow, 12ft high, 40ft long, 8ft wide - with reflective chevrons on the back!) '87 ex-MOD Leyland Tiger's 1/4in steel rear bumper. Both doors torn asunder, he reversed and fucked off! Just caught his registration as he disappeared in the opposite direction.

I reckon it's done a power of expensive damage to his Skud. My old Tiger... ?

Yeah I probably shouldn't of flogged it but I get bored easily. Always looking for something different, hopefully a Juvaquatre or DS will be coming home with me soon. If I have another Panhard a PL17 estate would be the one or an early Dyna. The 24BT was a right pain in the arse being a '65 it had to have seat belts which they never had in France. The UK had to have diagonal belts where as the Panhard only had lap belts. If I was to have another it would be an earlier car. This one even had a twin spark engine and went like a bat out of hell doing 80 easy and made an amazing noise with a custom exhaust.

One of my first journeys in the T2 was down Porlock hill. The bastard wouldn't stop, it slowed a bit on the gears and then the handbrake and eventually pulled up so close to a temporary traffic light at the bottom that I had to reverse away from it to get round.

There was very little brake fluid in it!

Fruitful visit to Upullit today. There was an 850 estate that had a good driver's wiper arm and a set of roof bars. I wasn't sure if the roof bars would fit the saloon but handily there was an early 850 saloon there to try them on.

Insert "Description that could apply to a Volvo...on the roof of a Volvo" joke* here.

I ordered a new pushbike headlight off eBay after my last one died following a couple of years of sustained abuse, and it was delivered today.  It's one of those Cree LED jobs.  Took it for a test run this evening and fuck me is it bright.  It's better than the headlights on some cars I've owned.  It's the two-part type, with a light that clips onto the handlebars and then a separate battery pack which attaches to the frame, connected to the light with a wire.  It came complete with a mains charger and an elastic strap thing to allow it to be used as a head torch - which will be GR9 4 working on shite when the nights start to draw in a couple of weeks from now.  And all for under 6 quid delivered.  Barg.

I Hope you get on better with gaz springs than i did, The scimitar ones I bought a few years ago went saggy within a month, gaz replaced them twice under warranty but they still were not right. The car sat so low it fouled on every speedbump, There was calendar photo a few years back that shows how low it was on gaz springs, everyone thought I'd lowered it deliberately. In the end I replaced them with a set of second hand 40 year old originals which finally got my car to the correct ride height (they are still on there.)  Last year I bought some Gaz springs for the rebels and they have gone equally saggy, only mitigated by the fact that I could increase the compression thanks to the adjustable seats.

I'd urge anyone to throw the Gaz supplied springs in the nearest bin and buy something that isnt made of cheese.

I still rate the shocks though they are well priced and well produced.

I have gaz coilovers on both of my sierras mainly because I can set them how I want the car to sit and the units are fully serviceable for £30-£35 each, if the ride on them is anything to go by your going to fall in love with driving the Tina all over again trig

Can you post a link, please? I was chasing a new light but just got bogged down with all the different lumen ratings and internet recommendations! Cheers

Nearly all lumens ratings are fictional, like the Watts you used to get on Goodmans car audio.

I have Classic Swede (revalved Gaz GT) shocks on my Amazon. From the [very] limited amount of driving I've done on them, they seem excellent. My Amazon also sits an inch lower to the ground which is about as OMGSLAMMEDYO as it's ever going to get.
