I have shock horror been driving my cortina. My 5 series in the garage trying to get its thirst for oil quenched so I brought this back up the road and have been using it for daily nappy collecting duties.

Other than not tightening the top hose and it fizzing water everywhere and nearly overheating it's been okay. It runs a teeny bit hot but I'm running it just on water just now so I'm hoping once I put some coolant in it'll return to the centre. It's actually pretty good to drive and quite nippy other than the shit brakes, which are going to need another look at and I think the binding caliper has warped a disc pretty badly.

I'm on the look out for someone decent and not too expensive to fit the new suspension bit and get it fit for it's MOT.

As all true WINNARS know, the best thing about using stain black is that you don't have to mask the tyres off. Still debating whether to get the air con looked at in the minuscule hope it is just a regas

12:45pm this afternoon Mum left her mortal troubles behind and is off for shenanigans in the Big Beyond.

Instead of limousines, we're using Dad's white 1997 Lexus LS400 decked out with purple ribbons and my 1998 white Citroen Xantia estate for any flowers. Ideally, we'd like an interesting hearse as the stuff with the funeral director is fairly generic so if anyone has one that they might be able to provide for the occasion please do get in touch.  We are not interested in purchasing a hearse at this time, just borrowing one.

This is not going to be your usual sort of funeral, it's going to be a celebration of Mum's life not a focus on Mum's death, just as she wanted it to be.

It will be a great celebration, I've never met you or your mum but I know it will.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother.

A celebration of the lost life often happens at funerals, and so it should.

Why not try Sandra from the classic hearse register they are a really lovely bunch and I am sure they will be more than happy to help. I know her other half has got an Ambassador.

Really sorry to hear about your mum vulg but I think you're spot on with the celebration. I'm sure she will have accomplished a massive amount of things to be proud of so it's good to take a moment to remember them.

Sorry to hear about that Angyl. Not a nice thing to happen. It sounds like your focussing it in a positive manner and I'm sure your Mum is now smiling about this up there.

Saddened for your loss mate. I hope the 'celebration' goes on in style!

You just gotta go hour by hour now fella. Tough times, but it's important to focus on the celebration of a life lived sir.

All the best. - charlie

Really sorry to hear about your loss, your posts over the last few days have been both moving and thought provoking and I've found myself wondering how I'd have coped in your position. That's a question I still think I'd struggle to answer.

I hope your final send off is everything that the family and your mum would have wished for.

So Sorry for your loss  Angyl , A celebration of life is a lovely idea and life is something to be thankful for

Angyl i have only met you once and i spoke to your father and brother. I never met your mother but i am sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my mum at a young age. I was 8 and she was 32. Cherish the time you had together and her memory will live on. All the best to you and yours. Next time i see you drinks are on me.

Shit.

You never get over losing Mum. Get used to it yes, but never get over it.

So sorry for your loss, nothing to add to all the above, just wanted to say you have my deepest sympathies.

My thanks to all who have sent messages of support and condolence and to anyone who has even just spared a thought for us.  We're a surprisingly strong family, there's very little to differentiate friends and family too.  My job seems to be to get the house physically clean and in order, something I'm finding hard at times as it's a tricky balancing act to prevent the house becoming a Mum-shrine or completely devoid of Mum, but so far so good.

We'll hold it together and come out the other side.  We're going to have a donation fund for the Intensive Care Unit that looked after Mum because they were just excellent and we'd rather people spend a fiver on that than a bouquet of flowers.  Our house is very small and we have maybe two vases, masses of flowers are going to be a problem but money to a worthy cause won't.  I'll put up the details for this when I have them in case anyone feels they'd like to donate though there is obviously no requirement for you to do so, your messages of support have been enough.
