It was a newer 3.2 passat. I'm not sure i'd trust those dsg boxes a at high miles though.

The deal on the Astra was contract hire.

I wouldnt trust a DSG to deal with a Charade 1.0 3 pot, nevermind a 3.2..

I was going to take the BX to Birmingham this weekend, for PoL and the PC Resto Show, but the exhaust has gone horribly flatulent, the clutch is annoying and I want to take the Daihatsu.

I meant, just look at it. It's ace!

My love for this car only grows now it's sharing daily duties with the BX. It truly is the Ying(Zing) to the BX's Yang. Too long behind the wheel and the shite suspension gets on my nerves. I reckon I'm due a bit of a jaunt in it though. Once I start crashing through Brum's shattered streets, I'm sure I'll regret the choice, but even BXs are crap over potholes.

I got offered that deal too but with the personal lease you just give the car back after 3 years, which I like. That way no mot's and the car's never not out of warrantly. With the lease I'm not responsible for the balloon either it's gaurentee'd.

I've been half heartedly looking at various PCP an lease deals and on new stuff theres some good offers about. I'm just not sure that I really want a new car or can decide what I'd want thats also within budget anyway.

This may change depending on how the MOT on the SEAT goes though.

^^^ are we going to have an autoshite intervention soon?

Waterpump on the R4 is leaking. Not much of a leak so I reckon we'll just see what happens. Got a new waterpump but I'll need to have a rummage and see if I have the relevant gaskets and whatnot kicking around and also see if I can locate my motivation to actually fix it. Must be around somewhere....

I'm concerned. There's far too much talk of buying brand new cars and leases etc going on. It's not right.

Just put this into TV2's engine oil, in an attempt to stop its rear main oil seal from leaking:

If it doesn't work, I'm not going to bother to submit the car for its next MOT later this month, as it won't pass without having its windscreen replaced, and there is little point (in my opinion) getting the screen replaced and obtaining a year's ticket on a car with a terminal oil leak, especially when I can pick up all manner of worthy replacements for the price of replacing the rear main oil seal..

I did amusing graphics today.

Good effort, especially if it would say "Vorsprung durch Picknick".

It's a bit depressing. Shite is a way of life!

Someone has to buy them new so the rest of us have something to buy/repair/love/hate in 20 years' time!

The balance is restored as long as the buyer of the new car offsets it by the additional purchase of a particularly shite secondary car.

Have I spelt it wrong then? I was going to write just 'Picnic' like English

then I saw that technic was spelt technik & thought that pichnik

was the best hybrid way to go.

Your opinions are all welcome, if enough of you think it looks wrong, I'll change it.

This was a previous incarnation...

Sometimes you have to experience the horror of a finance agreement before the realisation that shite is right.

I really admire the think ahea sign, it's a top quality Dad Joke.

I don't know what that is, I'm guessing it's a film from before I was born.  Most of the references on here are.

Some FOOL WITH NO FINANCIAL COMMON SENSE has to buy them new so the rest of us have something to buy/repair/love/hate in 20 years' time!

The balance CAN NEVER BE restored, EVEN IF the FOOLISH buyer of the new car TRIES TO offset it by the additional purchase of a particularly shite secondary car.

You made a few mistakes there so I've corrected them for you.

Never ever ever tie yourself up in some finance deal for a new shiny thing. Never.

I have you know it's from Citizen Smith!

Wasn't he that Che Guevara of Tooting back when the World was still a liveable place?

In the past I tried to get a loan from the bank to purchase a car with.  They told me they didn't do loans that small.

My Doblo van has reaffirmed my belief in the merits of shiteonomics.

Although a lad in my office has just bought himself a new set of wheels after his previous one, a tired 51-plate Seat Leon 20VT, blew its engine up. His new car is a 58-plate M3 4-dr, must be £20k’s worth. He says ‘Well, I can’t afford it really, but I’ve always wanted one and if I don’t get one now (he’s in his mid 20’s, not married etc) when am I ever going to? So I thought f##k it and bought it. I’ll have to flog it in a couple of years but I’ll worry about that then’ which is quite admirable innit.

I have an excuse. It's company shiney shite.

In other news, the Galaxy baby bus now has a fresh ticket.

Just a screen and rear discs stood in its way, and I knew about them.

Funnily enough, the "leaking front shock" they advised when they did the tyres has miraculously cured itself without me opening my wallet :-)

VULG :- ^^^^ back when the Govt gave kids money to go to Uni..... A car was a possible way to blow your wad.

... or beer.

(yes, I did look at a leasing site to work out how much a £250 car would be per month!)

edit: and made it before I read about Station's new car.
