I have a set of those very same Wolfrace wheels going spare if anyone is interested? They were from a Ford Focus in 4 stud with just about legal tyres all round. What's the going rate for them do you think, what did you give for yours stuboy?

Blimey that does sound like good value. I'll stick an add in the for sale and wanted thread see if anyone has any use for them.

Sirion now has a new exhaust fitted. It sounds a bit zingier. I quite like it. Sadly, it has done nothing to cure the odd power-loss-when-cornering problem. Has anyone got any thoughts on this as it's seriously bugging me?! Or I could try driving it sensibly perhaps. Doesn't misbehave when Mrs Wobbler is driving it.

I've been banned from selling the Sirion, so can't take that easy way out. Mrs Wobbler reckons I should just keep driving it until it's utterly broken. That does make more sense I'll concede. I still need a better distance machine though!

It is raining and I think I need a hovercraft to get about.

Having decided that I want a BMW E46 Coupe and not a Citroen Xantia, I think I want an Alfa Romeo 156 2.4JTD Sportwagon. Yes, it has been that sort of an evening.

Dolly- the power loss sounds like fuel surge to me.  I had the same with a mk3 Astra; there was a 'swirl pot' in the bottom of the fuel tank that had come loose (they were glued into place in the Astra..) which caused power delivery issues after negotiating a corner with less than a 1/3rd of a tank of pez.

How this happened so quickly I'll never know as the fuel rail is kept at a steady pressure by the pump/ pressure reg but nevertheless, fixing the swirl pot problem totally fixed it.

Sold the Vitesse to a Rover 800 nut tonight, glad it's gone to a good home. The silky smooth V6 was making me regret my decision a bit but money is needed for impending new shite.

The Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato rally car has been sold and collected - I no longer have any kei cars  :-(

Oh no! I was considering it to possibly take to France once finances get back in line. Never mind, I'll get the Mk2 827 back in rude health at some point, or even the Mk1 Sterling a new engine fitted.

Was it sold to anyone I might know?

I am doing my CBT tomorrow so will potentially be blezzing about on a motorbike soon. Shame the weather looks so shite!

According to the quack it is an inflammation of your inner ear, the bit that works a bit like a spirit level and keeps you balanced. It causes constant severe vertigo, I can't even walk mire than a few yards without falling over, astronaught in bed, for the first few days I coukdnt hold anything down not even water, problem was I need to take meds for my chronic illness including strong painkillers, am physically dependent on tramadol and oxycodone. As I couldn't take these the chronic condition came back with a vengence as well as cold turkey. Still in bed, still dizzy but apparentlyit lifts as quickly as it starts. Bit scary, when I was struck down I was driving a transit fully loaded down the Scottish side of Carter Bar in the dark and rain...great for hair pins

So I'm occupying myself with fleet rationalisation. Problem is, with my increasingly dodgey health, I'm not able to do a lot of the very physical side if repairs any more. So I need to lose some cars and replace others as I will need to bring in the mobile mechanic to help me and that costs.

Ian, look out for plastic impellar blades on e46 s, one killed mine, you can get a pump with steel blades as an upgrade.

I think it must be a fuel issue. Can't find anything specific to Sirions, but I have seen cars where the fuel pump has been on its last legs, and can't deal with the G-force of hard cornering. There is a filter on the pump too. Sadly, I think it's a tank-out job, and I'm a bit wary of the rotten fuel filler neck, so investigating further may be tricky. I'll check under the back seat just in case there's an access panel or something. Exhaust definitely needed doing - most of the baffles fell out of the old one after it was removed, and it now clatters not at all.

You seem to be able to pick up nice E46 Coupes for peanuts they seem to have taken a big price crash in the last year or so. They're good cars too but most of the straight sixes are a juicy and the 318 is under gunned so you might as well get a 328 or 330.

Would that be a squeaky clean 220SLi?  If it is, I am much jealous.

Only other suggestion is an air leak that needs a decent g force to open up the weak join, run the car and pull on the manifold to discount.

I wish, but no. Must have sold as bloke didn't get back to me and is too new for my classic policy anyway after I phoned up and asked. Same goes for Junkman's 405 otherwise I'd have bought that by now. So cash is now burning a hole but not found the right shite yet! I might be silly and bid on that beige povvo Maestro even though I'd prefer a 2 litre beater. I can then be like Angrydicky and attract hot Slovak girls, maybe..

Storia now has MOT until the end of Feb 2015 - woohoo.

I'm still working on relocating the battery to the boot of it as well. This morning I made a plate for the battery cut-off switch, to be mounted where the ashtray was. I also fitted the battery box in the back of the car, which involved drilling two holes in the car - I dislike drilling holes in cars.

Bids for the GS are slowly building up on eBay - there's been more interest since last time and it's already over the £100 offered by a banger racer.

I'm going to have to pay another month's rent on the lock up for it though - holding out for the last 'buyer' means it's probably going to be mid Feb before \ if the winning bidder collects it. Provided it's somewhere near the reserve I'll let it go, I'm past caring - although if I hear one more sad sob story I'll probably scream and call the salvage yard.

Bought a single cylinder foot pump so I can stop paying to pump up my tyres once a week.  Ã‚£3.75  well* spent I'd say.  Compressor?  I would, but accessories plugged into the cigar lighter keep blowing the fuse so this is more sensible.  My tyres are still being tampered with, doesn't matter which way around I park the car, the two on the road side always get fiddled with, but at least it's only by 5-10 psi now rather than 20+psi and they are putting the cheapo valve caps back on loosely afterwards... maybe they're getting bored of it as a game finally.

Thermostat housing is fixed.  I didn't do anything to it, the thing just decided that today when I went to investigate why it was leaking that it wasn't going to leak anymore.  There may be too much water in the system and it could just be that it's overflowing a bit along with the expansion bottle.  Nothing untoward otherwise so I suspect all is well... for now.

This afternoon I taxed the Civic for 6 months and got it of  the SORN, I only needed my V5, everything else is now on the post offices DVLA computer which is handy to know.

I celebrated by taking a drive out to Felixstowe and back, I'll be disappointed when i have to sell this.

I really do like that Trig, and it's steadily looking better in your hands.

Anyway. I've mainly been greenlaning in the Discovery today, having lots of fun, getting rained on at many different angles, snowed on a bit and (briefly) the sun shone. I really do like the Disco and instead of buying yet another heap, perhaps I should throw some money at it to make it a bit better.

I love the torque. My other cars don't have any.

Trigger, those wheels make such a massive difference to the car, I didn't realise how much they were letting the car down until you sorted them out.

Cheers Angyl, I thought that today when i took a better look at them whilst outside, although they weren't too bad before the new paint job has really freshened them up, they look like new now.

Went to a place in Worcester called 'Peopleton'. Its a wonderful little village but my visit there was to pick up an eBay purchase, (Clarion Rover stereo) from a fella who owns 19 cars, including; 2 Rover 800s, one Mk1 and a Mk2 Vitesse, a Moskovitch, Rover 75, 2 Land Rover Discoverys, a Dumper Truck etc......

Nice fella and a good aquiantance, he has a load of car bits that could be useful to me.

Oh, and I saw a Red Mk2 820i Fastback heading the other way (as they always do) as I came out of Peopleton.
