There you go.

1978 German built Mk2 2.0 ghia auto,in gold with brown vinyl roof.

Plans are to weld up the crispy bits, repaint in original colour, refresh the engine, new vinyl top, convert to 5speed manual, refurbish and refit original wheels.

Then use and abuse it.

I want it nice,not mint.

Never have seen another one like it.

Although I'm sure they exist.

I kinda consider a mk2 more of a GT type car,as they are a great cruiser.

Quite a handsome design too.

Made it back to Norwich. Now to swap over to the Toyota and collect my bike from the station before heading home. Then a 15 mile bike ride back into Norwich to pick up the Rover. When I said it'd be a long day...

The 944 I bought last year as a bit of a project now has forced me to get my arse into gear as its test runs out 25/8, not 25/9 as i thought. Shit. As soon as you get rolling the ABS light pings on, Internet wisdom says this is wheel sensor/ cables etc. After finding nowt the matter there I looked a little further and found this behind the arch liner.

That is the remains of the ABS pump. I may have found the problem. Why the fuck did Porsche think the wheel arch was good place for an aluminium pump and electrics?

The shiny bolt at the bottom was me clutching at straws and fitting a new earth. Of course it didn't fucking work!

Went to my Grandad's 90th, as mentioned earlier.

Mechanic brother-in-law turned up with my Cousin (his wife) and 5-year-old son in this:

Having driven from Devon to Shropshire.  This was also his wedding car, nearly 10 years ago when it was driven by my other cousin in a full chauffeur's outfit and has owned it for a long time.  It's a favourite of mine, too.

I live on the coast and looks like something i would have found on the beach when I was a kid. I guess the brake pipes are canny for 30 years old though.

Well what started out looking for Panhards in France then Corvairs in New York has lead to me making an offer on this.

I have got a soft spot for the mk2 they are a handsome car, I don't know why they are the unloved capri though compared to mk1 or mk3

Sorry but in a very non-bASe view the only real Capris have V6s as they sound so much better.

That's not what the Capri is for, running a V6 engine in a Capri completely misses the point of the car.

I went to a car show at a Jaguar restoration company today. Here are my pics.

Firstly, the official shot of our 'stand,' in which I just about managed to sneak both the Dacia and a pair of Fiat Cinquecentos.

Proper Land Rover. Six-cylinder fuel muncher.

Some lovely old things. And an MGB.

Oddly at Capel today there were actually very few MGBs. A couple of nice BGTs and that was it.

Is that Lincoln mate?

If you're passing Bourne (doubtful on your way to Norfolk) give me a shout if you want a brew.

Yep, Lincoln.  Quite why the twat nav decided to take me right through the centre I have no idea.

Thanks for the offer of a cuppa, but I was firmly ensconced on the A17 by then.

Impressive spot Bollox. Only 250 were made.

Looks like a Pisshat from the front.

I love those XL1 things.  That photo is probably the closest I'll ever get to one.

I think one of the only things that would get me out of the ST170 at the moment would be a really tidy 1.7 Puma.

They do seem quite thin on the ground, the tidy ones. Most seem to be 'average' but there must be some good ones out there. The owner's page on Facebook is very good, they also have a separate selling page which is worth keeping an eye on.

Idly car shopping again today.

Ok, that's just a Laguna, not very interesting.

Being in the Alps doesn't make it interesting either.

Oh.

Judging by the photos of other Lagunas with it there are at least three of them on the continent. What possessed any of the people involved I don't know, but this one can be yours for a cool $9750 which is apparently about £5800 in over there money.

I bought myself a new car today.

With some personal shit hitting the fan I found myself in a different country and so I needed something to get around.

It's red and it has V6.. I'll put some pictures up later.
