Downing a pint of Old Rosie to stop it getting warm after a day getting dehydrated was perhaps not the smartest idea as it seems to have gone straight to my legs. Good job it's only a short walk to the bar at the cricket club later.

Can anyone guess what this is then?

It’s a Mercedes front wing isn’t it?

Reminds me of being in Gran Canaria years ago - first drink after hours on the beach was a pint of lager which disappeared in about 4.32 seconds - mistaaaake :D

A rotary clothes line on a bed of decorative gravel with a garnish of stool & a secret bubble wrapped ingredient.

Good guesses guys. All wrong (with a bit of accuracy thrown in! :)   ) not a Mercedes front wing....

Festering remains of NOS wings?

Those aren't holes, they are Mulliner air vents.

Sorry

Anon got it. It is indeed a Fiesta wing in bubble wrap which is where it's staying until I get the enthusiasm for raving wings off. It could be 'some' time....  :)

I went to pick my Land Rover up today, after several weeks, and new ignition system, carb clean, changed petrol, head rebuild, etc. and it broke down again on the way back to work. Pretty much with the same problem. It runs fine, then misfires a bit then cuts out (in awkward places) then won't restart for a bit. I did get it back to them in fits and starts, but not very happy at all.

Anyway have a picture of a working Land Rover

This is the planned replacement, if I ever get the other one running well enough to sell

Try removing the petrol cap when you start having symptoms it sounds just like it's forming a vacuum a sucking hissing noise when you lift/ remove the cap means the breather system is bloked.

I was hoping it was the last bit of the green dollop that didn't go in the metal shredder.

Sounds like my Disco when the fuel lines rotted through just above the tank. It took me ages to get to the bottom of that as it wasn't really leaking fuel but was sucking in air.

I’m sitting outside at the moment just finishing dinner.

My neighbour has just come in and has told me of the excitement today. Apparently around 9 this morning a group (two vans she thinks ) of Eastern Europeans came into the park and drove round ( for quite a while which doesn’t give one much confidence in the police) and got as far as the farm before the armed squad arrived.

They seemed quite surprised at the armed police presence I’m told and were, they said, looking for somewhere to stay. CCTV on the drive and large no entry signs were no good if they can’t read English! Didn’t speak much either so I expect the lawyers are involved now.

If the daily mail gets word it will be a major terrorist incident!

I foresee more security in the offing. And I’m due a personal visit from the fuzz it seems to keep me alert!

Drove round looking for anything unsecured to steal, having failed they headed to the farm to try and nick the red diesel more likely

That Land Rover problem sounds exactly like the issue I'm been having with my Royale over the last few months. I've already replaced the fuel pump, and eventually traced it back to either the fuel line or the tank itself, so fuel line replacement is next on the list.

Posted

Some more bits to check then, the fuel tank was new last year and the fuel pump has just been replaced.

Posted

This is the planned replacement, if I ever get the other one to catch fire.

FTFY. Solved all my Land Rover problems, right there in one go.

Got promoted at work today, after 6 weeks in the job! Now Grounds/Maintenence supervisor. Loving every minute still, and seeing the back of the motor trade was the best thing I've done. Off in Brown Car to Germany with best mate and his wife next week, then the hunt is on proper for a ratty 4x4.Been a Grandad for 9 weeks now and still walking on air. Just shows that sometime when you think life is shit, and you're a grumpy bastard, things can change.. for a while anyway.
