Would sir be interested in expanding his BL portfolio?  ;-)

Yes... but I suspect at least three people would attempt to remove vital parts of my anatomy and potentially internal organs if I did. They may even be successful, so I'm not sure I'd be willing to take the risk... at least until I'm back down to two cars again and get all fidgety about wanting a third of course.

Does anyone know any good places to get spray paint custom made? Or does it cost a fortune? I presume I'll have to send something off for a colour match, as it seems ships don't do it...

Yes it's for a Hoover, I need several cans of Jonquil, and a few of Swedish green for various projects

I've used these guys for automotive paint in the past, and they managed to do a good job making me VW Electronic Green (LD6T I think) and was a good price on a 400ml rattle can of it plus a can of lacquer, though this was a few years ago.

Would need to factor in shipping too, though depends how soon you need it - it could probably be shitely'd to you if no rush.

Let's see how long it takes the RAC to drag us back from Exeter.

Should also mention I don't have any paint codes to go by! Looking at the site they seem to require it! Unless they will mix based on a physical sample?

Just go to your local body supplies place, most have a fancy machine that analyses the paint and comes up with a recipe for a match, then get it put into an aerosol

My eldest son in Canada is looking to buy a 2005 Toyota Matrix, did we get these in the UK?

A framed this honey back home in the dark yesterday (so no collection pictures)

It's a Peugeot 307 SW HDi 90 with a drinking problem. The owner assumed head gasket so got rid but I can't find where the water is going to. Runs fine, no oil/water mixing, water looks nice and clean. I think it could be a hairline crack in the expansion tank or something.... or it could be the head gasket.

Someones been playing with the engine at some point as all the covers are missing. How do they get separated from the car??

It also has this big glass panel in the roof which is pretty cool.

Top qual tread too

And F-knows what's been going on here, but it involved children.

Plans? May keep this and sell the S40 as although it's a bloody lovely car, it's petrol so is much more expensive to run than something I can run on biodiesel (like this)

Compared to the Volvo the build quality is a bit kinder egg toy like but for a daily hack it should be fine. Anybody got the 3rd row of seats kicking about?

Had a good night at Belle Vue last night. My son was offered a go in a Brisca F1, we normally race F2.

Difference is Zetec vs V8 or around 10K cash.

Did very well for first time out and very little damage so all good.

The green Dolly is potentially a very nice car, it's the one I had and the one that I spruced up the engine bay quite a bit.

IIRC it needs some fabrication to the boot floor, the well where the petrol tank sits. Rust struck there sadly and a bodge was done many moons ago seemingly but that had died.

Don't recall much else to be honest. Brooklands Green is a nice colour and suited the car very well. I think I replaced one of the rear bumper blades as it achieved razor like sharpness due to rust.

I see South Korea is building some blackout bombs - why bother?

Just get someone to plug in a couple of fridges, this will instantly cause a significant blackout in Jung Land and will be much cheaper overall.

Is Belle Vue Tarmac or shale? Is that 10k a season or difference in car building costs? I would love to have a go round the oval, B2B bangers would be about my cost level though..

How does running with a Zetec compare to a pinto durability wise?

Belle Vue is shale.

10K difference is car purchase cost, second hand prices.

Did a bit of work on the F1, and he lent it to us. Unbelievable really.

I think most manufacturers tend to use a standard RAL colour for their appliances and give it a poncy name or, if not, there will be a RAL colour that is close.

Does it need to be an exact match for touch ups or are you painting the whole thing, in which case near enough may be good enough?

If you can get hold of a RAL colour chart you could find the nearest match and order it using the RAL number.

If you buy it in an aerosol will it be a ral can?

Yeah, the boot floor basically just needs a flat section putting in, with an access hole for tank drainage. There's a couple of other small floor sections needed, but again flat and easily accessible. The biggest job would be new sills: it definitely needs new diaphragms and I suspect new outers too, along with repair sections on the inners (all available through the Owners' Club).

In all honesty and with the best intentions, I'm never going to get round to doing the bodywork myself, neither will I be in a position to get it done professionally. Would make a cracking winter project for someone else, I guess.

What engine is in the dolly?

1296cc. The best one. Tuning parts available, reliable and tough. Plus bloody easy to work on.

Indeed, around 130bhp can be obtained with a stock bottom end. Like a Sprint, only without all the hours spent trying to keep it running.

Damn! I was near Exeter today at about the same time. I could've at least rescued you.

Hope you got back OK.
