Things you don't see every day:

2 Garda cars on a tow truck. In Northern Ireland. (Carrickfergus, this morning)

Are they mk3 Mondeos?  A bit on the old side for a Polis car, aren't they?

When I was in Dundalk last year, I saw an 02 plate Garda Mondeo and a pretty manky looking Nissan Terrano.

There's some sort of film thing being made in Belfast at the minute, but it's supposed to be in the Irish Republic. I imagine that's what these cars are for. Running them through Carrickfergus is a risky strategy, mind: there's plenty of fucktards round here who probably think we've been invaded.

I was going to ask if there's a fillum being made but thought that might be a bit too obvious.

Oof, I've found something I really want I might have to brave the panda on gumtree.

Just down the road from me that is....

I'd say there's a bit of filming going on

I've since found out they were filming over at Dunnes on the Ormeau embankment. It's supposed to be set in Dublin whatever it is. My mate pointed out "A garda mondeo and 25m away from Dunnes there are more union flags than VE day 1945."

Must be cheaper filming up here?

Fitted a new wiper 24" to the Japanese mega bus last week. Went out in it today and it's raining. New wiper is shite and won't clear screen. Got a new one while out. Went to swap it and the wiper had a protective plastic strip over it. Remove that and it works. I am a thick git. Now got a spare wiper.

Quite a few years ago now, someone was making a movie in Bushmills. Same sort of story, couple of Garda vehicles, people in Garda uniforms and they'd covered up a Royal Mail pillar box to make it look like an Irish one. Apparently, some oul fella who lived out in the countryside environs knew nothing about what was going on, went home and got his shotgun. Had to be calmed down and given tea by the Peelers in the back of a Land Rover.

So, a few of you on here may recall that I sold the MGF just before my wedding in October cos I couldn't justify/afford to fix it with the nuptials being weeks away, then the other week I noticed publicly that BMW Z3's seem close to bottoming out.

So obviously I joined the AS Picasso lovers society yesterday, with an £200 eBay purchase. It's fucking ace (so far).

*AND I've already fixed (some of) the dashboard bulbs

Quite a bit of expertise up here, I'm told. Plus, they do all sorts of special effects stuff at the old Paint Hall at the shipyard.

Dave Fowler and I went a run in the car today... best pic of the day is this, I think.

How come no one has stolen the wheels?   Standards are slipping over there it seems...

Kids these days. Too lazy to gather up a few bricks and a trolley jack.

Coalburn or some other horrendously bleak central belt location.

Xantia news; The ride has been getting worse lately so I ordered up two rear spheres last week and attempted to change. Neither of the rear ones would come off no matter how much swearing was done so will need to wait for another dry day to be attacked with penetrating oil and force.

Other than that nothing of interest has happened really. If it wasn't so nice to drive it would be positively dull...

I honestly thought you'd been offered a council house there and were thinking of moving.

Rear spheres can be an utter arse. I had to give up on the XM and get someone with a better removal tool and a bigger hammer to have a go.

It was Douglas Water... simply stunning.

Some wheeltrims centre cap stickers just arrived from China for the e34.

The trims are a bit dull and faded, even though they've been jet washed, wonder what would happen if I put them in the dish washer?post-17414-0-69832200-1479379601_thumb.jpeg

Dull modern (ish... 13 years old now) Octavia in for MOT today. May need brake pads, but don't think there should be much else.

It's been using a bit of coolant lately, so wondering if the rad has a weep. Only half a pint/ month mind, so I may just ignore it.

Im dreading doing the rears on mine, especially the centre one with a very crusty looking lhm pipe entering it! Putting it off until next year though, will order all 6 spheres and hydraflush on bonus month pay day, and a removal tool! The dead ride can continue for a while!

Got a decent removal tool but it's only moving the suspension cylinders about just now which is less than ideal. If defeated I'll add it to the brake pipe that's also needing replaced by the garage and they can swear at it instead.

Having long since been priced out of the 2cv market, and c15s not having enough seats, I've had to do a bit of lateral thinking and buy citroen's c15 successor, with a 2cv-esque roof....

Were dents and parking damage on the factory options list? Most, including this one have those ticked. Having a leisurely trundle back to Devon over some Dorset back lanes. Modern car shock- ive found actual ride quality in this berlingo!
