Won't they mirror your years of claim freeness? I've done that going from classic to normal insurance, got a discount worth the same as NCD everytime. All it needed was a letter saying 'Kiltox has been with us x years & never claimed' from the old company.

I have started "upgrading" the interior of the C15 camper, I need to cover up the headache inducing fabric

Fortunately this is something I can do with a staple gun.

It is also doing a job that the van couldn't, delivering a piece of furniture which would have been too long for the van but just squeezes down the middle of the camper.

No it's not my coffin, it's a set of bookshelves.

What engine's in that 800 then? Did they ever do a V8? Looks very clean.

Rover 2.0 t series turbo. This one is the 180bhp job which I felt more than enough for these but they can be had in 200bhp flavour too

Postcode really is the key

It's funny really, I live in a workaday coastal town with it's fair share of teenage messing about and coastal deprivation etc (its perfectly ordinary really, not Rhyl but not Sandbanks either!), but premiums seem low here and I can only think that the huge number of garaged giffer-mobiles keeps the prices down.

£180 for the Fusion, £150 for the Mondy (both with business cover) and £109 for the Fav on classic insurance.

I'm £275 a month for the Golf at the moment, which works out at something like £3k a year I think. I think they were getting annoyed I changed cars every few months. Hopefully come renewal I can fit both the Golf and the pug into the same cost. I've been driving less than a year though, and combining that with something with "GT" in the name isn't great.

£7.59 for a pasty and a coffee in Bristol Temple Meads. Fucking hell!!

I made the error of eating in a national trust cafe a while back. Two small bottles of pop, two piece of cake and a child's jacket potato was nearly 18 quid.

^^^^ aye, but the potato was organic, the cheese vegan and all delivered by 4 morris dancers....

The Trabant Owners Club had their yearly run out and show today,on probably the warmest day so far this year

Around 90 of the little smokers met up outside Veliko Turnovo and then proceeded on a tour of the city, complete with full police escort at midday

Most of them made it to the car park outside Praktika (B&Q) and put on a little car show

My postcode is Liverpool 36. So it's not good for any insurance. Hasting direct said no can't cover me. Due to postcode and jap import. In the end it was £602.00 for mine and £1.100 for daughters. Daughter has 2.0 kia sportage ,25 yrs old with 8 yrs no claims. The meerkat was coming in at £900 plus to start just for me.

I was filing my Peugeot 205 auto's MOT paperwork yesterday and just happened to look at the recorded mileage versus last year's figure.  17,200 miles covered !  Bugger.  My insurance limit is 12,000 miles p.a.  I 'phoned Legal & General/Sabre and they did not kick up a fuss but asked for an extra £1-20  to cover me up to 18,000 miles for the last few weeks on the current policy.  The renewal due 11th April, this time for 18,000 miles, was £192.  It was within £30 of last year's quote, so I went with them again.  I'll have to check the Stellar's mileage as well.  Although I don't use it as frequently as the 205, I think its insurance limit is only 8,000 p.a..   Quite odd really.  When I retired nearly 9 years ago, I thought my annual mileage would drastically reduce because of no more commuting at 24 miles each way per day.  Somehow I've replaced commuting with a similar mileage of pootling around the local lanes.

Bloody hell, do you live in Mosul? I know a 17 year old would need to pay through the nose but I can't believe you would need to pay a grand. What do the meerkats say?

My quotes were generally around £2k when I passed my test (at 18), now three and a half years on, my insurance was £998.20 fully comp with both my parents on, with Privilege. Would have been £850 but my mum had a claim against her insurance in 2014 where her old Polo's ABS noped out and she hydroplaned into a Jazz.

Mainly for Citroen Lickers!

Chevronic Anniversary bash today in Hitchin saw a good turnout of Citroens, Rob Moss the proprietor also had his Hillmans and MG Magnet on show. There were 2 P6 Rovers, Simca 1100, Renault 10, Renault 16, Daf 66, Triumph 1300 and Lotus amongst the guest cars.

They are carrying on in a hotel to party the night away but I have a prior engagement with Buckingham Canal Society.
