Right, after listing my 5th Gen Honda Prelude on eBay yesterday, I have now discovered a power steering fluid leak.  :?

Has anyone recently seen one 5th Gen Prelude in a scrappy somewhere? I need the fluid cooler section of pipe.

Thanks.

Under floor coolant pipes, I would check the breakers as you might get lucky and find a car with stainless pipes already fitted.

Shouldn't cost much more than 20 quid 2nd hand.

My Amazon account's been hacked. 180 quids worth of drones and trainers have been ordered and the money swiped from my card. Never bought anything from there in over a year. bast

It's the U shape 'trombone' piece with fins I need. I have already asked on a Prelude forum, but apparently it's quite sort after (there's a surprise) and they want £80.

Not used the VTS much lately so really enjoyed the day trip to Kew Gardens today.

Pictures for no particular reason.

I've done almost 500 miles over the last 24 hours in the ex-Wuv Primera GT and I'm very impressed, extremely competent cars. Effortlessly fast, refined, superb handling and bloody good economy too. I've taken to it so much I've already bought it some better doors...

The ex-explosive-cabbage Pug 106 has made its first long-distance commute, and performed admirably.  At some point I'll post up in its own thread...

Unlike.

If it is a credit card it is up to card company to sort with Amazon - consumer credit protection.

Amazon must know who they sent the stuff to so how can this work for the fraudster?

It was my debit card and orders are seemingly on their way to my address? Have been on the phone to Amazon and my bank. My bank cannot do anything until the money has left my account, still showing as pending but balance has been reduced by the amount. Amazon say they are aware of it and are working on it and will contact me today. In the meantime, shite purchasing pounds have been reduced.

^^ this is what you've told the wife about all the new man toys right?

Last week went to take the family out in the 75 and - blown headlight bulb.

I've read so many horror stories about how impossibly hard they are to change that I was anticipating the humiliation and ignominy of dropping the car in for just a bulb change.

No.

So, off to the parts dealer on Saturday morning, and was treated to the old-fashioned experience of being served by man in dustcoat and receiving my H7 in a nice little cardboard box.

Armed with the Haynes, I followed the instructions to the letter, and what do you know, it was possible.

That's an achievement by my standards.

Mercedes had a near failure to proceed this morning. Left parked At my parents since Thursday when I drove us up to the Lake District in their new ds4 ( which is very nice but has 19" wheels and suspension to match). Jumped in this morning to come home and the key wouldn't turn in the ignition. Oh rollocks thought I! Bit of jiggling and it shifted the barrel lock but felt very notchy. Had to stop en route at Stafford to pick up some 2cv parts for a friend and it was ok there, and later at the petrol station. Think I'd better change it though, unless anyone knows how to service them? They seem to be a relatively common problem.

On the plus side I filled up just as the fuel light came on at 403 miles and calculated it as 31.7mpg since filling up on Thursday. Quite good since I touched 80 occasionally and had the ac on all the time.

I have someone interested in the Prelude, who wants to send his man with recovery truck down to collect.

What's the easiest way to deal with this? That is selling to a person on ebay who isn't the person collecting. What normal happens?

Not sold this way before  :?

I had the buyer bank transfer the money. He hadn't done it by the time his transport guy turned up, so I phoned and he did it there and then. When the money showed in my account, I let the driver leave.

Best to get payment sorted beforehand.

Okay, thanks.

Presumably i just give him the V5 new keeps slip too?

Apart from the money stuff,  ask for name + address (+ signature) of buyer for V5 beforehand if he/she is not collecting.   Do the V5 transfer online as this results a new owner V5 in 3 working days.

Try some proper graphite lock lubricant in it first. Dont use WD40 or anything like that.

Today, I made the observation that a lot of people in Moray / The Highlands like Mazda Bongos and the Ford equivalent. I saw quite a few of them on my travels today.

Why was I in a position to notice this? A rather vital piece of network equipment in Inverness failed in the early hours of Sunday morning, and guess which moron volunteered to go and replace it...

I put almost 250 miles on the work Transit van though. :D

My 300Se ignition switch packed up last year, a known 30 year fault. Don't use the car until you've replaced the lock, they jam.

If you can get the key to the accessory position it's fairly easy, if not it isn't. On mine there is a small hole in the barrel edge, you need something like 2mm wire pushed into it to release the latch then the outside case screws off over the key.

Don't believe the Ebay sellers who say one type fits all, it doesn't. The difference I found was on the back of the barrel where it drives the steering lock but you won't know what yours looks like until you've removed it.

Apparently if you move the steering lock with a screwdriver with the lock out you'll need a new column.

This is very true- every time I go out to a Bongofreda I end up on the A9 going North. Usually after they have done an excellent geyser impression, often in Blairdrummond safari park...

Argh! I wish I knew you could change the V5 online! I'm waiting desperately for the v5 on the Astra so I can get it sold and shifted off our drive :o

Anyone know how to open 'goona2 back doors when neither the inside nor outside handle work? I know it's electrical as they both failed on the same day, so it's bound to be the central locking only moving halfway or something equally retarded & french.

Tried the switch that disables the rear electric windows? On my Scenic II that also disabled the rear door handles (inside)
