I had a civic like that in 3dr 1.7 ctdi. Aircon could be condenser, as it's in front of the radiator and is prone to stones. Mine was at least.

 

The aircon was a bit pants though. Never ice cold. My parents had the 5dr 1.6 facelift from new, that aircon was rubbish too.

 

Though better than no aircon!

Small amount of progress on 5 year mission to replace engine in ZT-T

Needed to moved the AMC Rebel - I had all the plugs out for a quick look and compression last week.  Broke one plug in that fiasco so put a new one in - connected all HT leads that I'd left lying around.  Car fired up OK, but was a bit lumpy.  Ran well enough to shift it.  Then opened the bonnet and realised I'd left 2 of the leads from the other bank off - so I had a V6.  I probably should give up really.

I did something similar on my Granada recently. Did a load of work, reassembled it all and fired it up to move the car. It ran but wasn't good. Got out and thought 'wtf is wrong now!'. I'd put two HT leads back on the wrong plugs. What a dumb ass!

I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to sell the Hyundai van, much to my disappointment.  With the Movano having unexpectedly sailed through its MOT and having unexpectedly been behaving faultlessly ever since, I can't really justify keeping both vans.  The Movano is bigger, faster, better on diesel, more comfortable, handles better when laden and is LEZ compliant.  Objectively the only areas it loses out are that it won't fit into a normal parking space, I can't see out of the back and the turning circle is appalling, unlike the H100 which turns on a sixpence.

 

For some reason, though, I still prefer driving the Hyundai.  Maybe because it's so much better than I thought it would be, whereas I fully expected the Movano to be boringly competent.  In fact it was a very close decision over which one to keep - the only thing that tipped the balance in the Vauxhall's favour was that it has 11 months' MOT whereas the Hyundai only has 2.

 

I might bung a For Sale thread up on here for the H100 in the morning.

While I'm waiting to see what's in store for me this academic year (I know I'm going to university but not sure if full/part time, and how I'll be funding myself), I've been reading about Prides and Nippas.

 

 

Perodua made rebadged Terioses too. Hm.

 

I have a choice between an 850cc car with £1300 insurance, or a 1300cc car with £750 insurance. It's a no brainer on paper - more power, less cost for same initial outlay (tax, purchase price and collection costs are negligible).

But for some reason I want to lean towards the Nippa - then again at the moment there's every chance I'll end up with a 405, that to be honest I'd really bloody like. Slightly* more ruinous financially, but hey, don't kick a gift horse in the mouth and all that.

 

 

I sort of want to experience a Kia Pride - I can find a lot about the Nippa, but not a lot about the Pride aside from the fact that it's a car, and eh, it's okay. 

 

Head says Pride, heart says buy all the tickets left for the 405, silly hat says Nippa, or something else entirely. 

 

This is AS, anyway, fuck knows what I'm going to end up with.

The 12mm compression fitting arrived today so I could replace the bodge on the Hydragas pipe on the Princess.  Only, the pipe is actually 1/2" or 12.7mm, not the 12mm I thought it measured at.  So now I need to find a 1/2" imperial fitting instead and so far the only one I've found is more than three times the cost of the 12mm I already have.  What an arse.

edit: checked. I ticked 'suspension changes' and it added £1000 and killed off about 40 quotes.

I don’t know this for certain but I think some truck/trailer air brake systems use ½†pipe so I would have thought suitable fittings would be available from that direction

They do, but that's throwing me at trade accounts and America, which is more expensive in most cases.  I'll see if the local fixings place does them, he was shut half-day today so I couldn't get the bolts I wanted.  See if I can find a truck/engineering place too, someone must have one kicking around.

My man maths came up with the idea that if I got an MOT on the Astra, sold it cheaply (so quickly), I'd have enough left to effectively make the new purchase free with a bit of cash spare for fettling!

 

However I have finally told the wife today that I've bought another car, but not actually that its coming tomorrow...

 

So depending on requiring domestic bliss when I tell her the ETA, I may still take you up on that offer...
