HMC- £500 Range rover

HMC

It was originally dark green and someone has brush painted it that colour. I like it too, HMC jr jr calls it “hulk van” it’s definiely a rusting hulk!

Not mine but my fellow flat mate across the corridor “elvis” is selling his c15 romahome camper. He’s after £1200 and his number is in the pic- located Tavistock, Devon- seemed a decent price to me.

Oh my. I was explaining to missus SPuss about these babies and she was quite taken. Then saw one on the road and she was quite tempted....

Might need to apply wine and see if I wave this under her nose.

If I didn’t have the Ducato... although that is a bit big sometimes. Is two campers greedy?

No, I had an Autotrail and a HiAce. Mrs. BMH has just gone oohhh..

I don’t know a huge amount about it, and “elvis” (real name Martin) doesn’t know I’ve put it here, but it seemed a good price to me and worthy of letting you lot know!

He used to go camping with his son, but his son is now grown up.

That's a bit of a bargain for someone I recon, I'd genuinely love to have a crack at it but alas the driveway is full.

Does seem cheap but the crusty indicator got me checking the mot history

Looks like it's getting crunchy at the back

  • 4 weeks later...

I’m Moving house with this at the moment and it’s basically up for grabs now.

Its a 2000 merc Vito 110cdi crew cab In GREEN. 4 seats. The rear has been trimmed, bit like a basic day van. After changing drivers, passengers and sliding doors with good ones and painting to match it looks tidier. My paint job on the doors is ok, but elsewhere the paint is rough and the body is ok for an old Vito, but a bit rough. Good tyres. Goes very well, very torquey!  although the gearbox is a bit tired and selects gear with a bit of a “snick” as it goes through on all except 5th, which goes away with care or a bit of Rev matching. Totally on the button and reliable, mot to mid August. A think of it as the poor/ intelligent persons VW T4. I’ve been using it as my sole transport and drives without issue, tired gearbox aside. It’s down as being repairable salvage on the v5.

located Tavistock and I’d like £275.

I had a steer of this yesterday and can confirm it goes bloody well.  Somehow managed to miss the twin rear wipers though - I'd have had a play with those if I'd spotted them.

Yes, plus it’s wired up like Mb cars of the period so if the windscreen wipers are on or on intermittent, the rear ones start clapping hands when you select reverse. I saw dollywobbler had noted them!

Bloody hell man, I love this, but what would I do with the other one?

My wife says I'm not allowed to buy all of your old Merc vans.:sad-smiley-005::sad:

Oh... LEZ says no anyway.

I'd say GLWTS, but really I'm hoping you'll still have it in a couple of months once I've moved west...

I'd say that was a missed opportunity! We could have done a live ROFFLE for this one.

It is a surprisingly pleasant steal and were circumstances different, I'd be heading straight back down to bloody Devon! Good to see you here again, with your epic chod offers. (not just because of those!)

There is an irrational part of me that is very tempted by that Vito. Unfortunately, the rational part of me realises that I'm skint, and that Devon is a long way away.

If it were to roffle, however...……..

Agreed, definitely a missed opportunity!

On an economy footing I recon I get an average of 40 mpg out of it, the torque of the engine means 5th is ok from about 25mph upwards, 70 is about 2600rpm so it feels fairly relaxed on a motorway.
