My W140 had the same issue on one of the rear doors, especially when it was cold outside and the grease even less greasy. I managed to get the door card off just enough to spray the hell out of the lock mechanism. That fortunately did the trick. I haven't opened that door in the last 2 years so crossing my fingers that its still working...

The WAFT on that.

Spotted this for sale a few days ago, I won't lie the crinkly boot did put me off, is it on the register?

Clearly double-skinned - but with the rear skin out it might well beat out to something fillable rather than replacing it?

Or maybe not...

I like it dented. It absolutely says "I don't give a fuck". I'm not going to say dibs, but I really want to.

Did a very memorable road trip in one of these over a decade ago. For a minute I thought this was the actual car, but I don't think it is. They are phenomenal things, it's a wonderful feeling to travel in something that's better than anything else on the road.

Mr Chowdhury’s merc was used for the uni commute. Im blown away by how well it drives- if it wasnt for the panel damage and the poor paint it would be one of those you see at merc specialist dealers with an eye watering price tag. Id say it drives not far off how a new one would. Feels like its 1995 and its a £50k (or whatever the list price) car from the driving seat.

Mr Chowdhury’s merc continues to be a solid daily whilst the fiat gets fixed

The fossil fueled fast warm up certainly helps in the current cold temperatures ❄️

Fleet news…

Mr chowdhury’s merc is being collected later,

and the fiat is back in front line duties after having the combined oil filter housing/ oil cooler assembly replaced- with the part alone costing a few hundred. Ouch!

Been pottering about in the daimler after finishing work for the day. Cruised about shuffling gears on the preselector, and buying some last minute things.

I also did a spot- 2cv and banger rally octavia (a shop owner’s daily)

Good to see you've bought a sensible modern to run alongside the Gumdrop.

Getting read for a collection roadtrip tomorrow. If it goes ok we will stay overnight in a fishing village, and catch 2 ferries, although its only about 40 miles away.

First leg being done in a car built in the same factory as vehicle being collected, 74 years apart.

Is any part of Hell involved?

HMC taking it to a whole new level! Wow, what a beauty.

Edit: Was it from Snozzle?
