Pages 18 and 19 of the 1931 Highway Code illustrating examples of hand signals: how to signal you are slowing down and turning left (man waving arm in car), second graphic is a man waving right arm to turn right, third graphic is man waving arm low to signal overtaking, four graphic is a man signalling he is stopping.

Don't they still teach that? 😀

I had to wave my hand out of the windows.

Hand signals only now Sir.

I do still see a few drivers giving hand signals.  They don't look quite the same as the ones on that list though.

I do have the modern (?) equivalent problem of that neither of my cars have Hazard lights,  (and only one of them even has a pull towards you headlight flash function) so I cant give a quick flash of said hazards to say "thanks" or "sorry", so it usually involves me frantically waving my hand in the air with a thumbs up or the wave of apology instead.

Autoshite-world-problems eh....

You could do what the truckers do and flick the indicators left-right-left.  You can't do that on a modern car because of the stupid lane change feature which flashes them three times when you flick the stalk.

Offfff that’s a bit of me, cruise work? If not, I likely have a spare ECU for it.

ive actually got a full cruise kit, but I’m saving it for Chris 1.8 GL…… because I know how much he wants that Gl to be more practical

I missed this, I once sold a new Carlton 2.6 CDX Auto saloon to a customer and that seemed a lovely with SIX cylinders!

The "Six Cylinder" name dates back to 1980 when I needed a handle for the original AM CB radio I had. Put on the spot to come up with a name the only thing I could think of was Six Cylinder as I was driving a 6 cylinder Triumph Vitesse. After a year or so of lurking I decided to sign up to Autoshite, that was 15 years ago. Again I was put on the spot for an Autoshite name and I went through several ideas like "Fluffy Bunny" but none seemed any better than Six Cylinder!

I now have a FM CB, but only use it for 4x4 Club out and about communication with real names.

Pretty much how I became beko1987... Needed an irc handle in the early 2000s and I had a Beko TV in my room and was born in 1987... And it's stuck 😂

Is there a thread about what your AS name means? I can’t remember, seems like a fun idea if not

Yes, left it overnight and got a friend to recover it back to  tavistock today.

Tapping the pump relay @ianbmw hasnt revived it.

Mine first cut out when boarding a ferry from Cairn Ryan to Larne. Luckily it restarted fine and was ok for the rest of our trip. It cut out again, back home in Reading and left me stranded on the A4 for about an hour, then started.
Fortunately it was still under warranty from the Honda dealer I’d bought it from and they authorised me to take it  to the local Vauxhall dealer. Relay diagnosed and replaced, no problems afterwards. Hope it’s that simple for yours.
