Y-plate so first model year, yet no dangly mirrors? Were they a povvo-only feature a la black grille, or did they just replace them with boring old mirrors very early on?

As far as I know dangly mirrors were on the low specs (Base, L) and once you got to GL and upwards you were afforded proper ones.

I reckon with its sumptuous interior it would be ideally suited to hen nights.

Ready to ferry you and your girlfriends to the hottest club in town!

And not because it was the only car on sale in 1989 still painted that shade? ARG must've had a stack load of yellow to use up in those pre-Cinquecento Sporting days.

I BOUGHT THIS IN A MOMENT OF MADNESS!

Evidence of a few other 'moments' cluttering up the yard.

Seller clearly belongs here. :D

That marina is great! Sadly theyve hoiked the engine out and flogged it. Could be the perfect candidate for my dream marina though - mini MPI injected A-series plus dolomite O/D box. 50MW halogen headlamps too. OUT OF THE WAY LUZRZ, MARINA REPMOBILE COMIN' THROUGH!

There's a similar contraption, but with a roof, goes around here. It looks incredibly unstable when it's on the move.

Love that colour! It's almost a match for my Astra Pineapple. :D

No, I think it's one of these.

That would be well unstable with a lass hanging off the back at that angle beyond the rear axle...

I'd give one of these a whirl if I could!

Wonderful flowing lines and panel fit eh?

On V5 is states ‘Vehicle has been substaintially repaired and/or accident damaged

Did they cut the top half off one and weld it to another?
You're really scraping the barrel when you have to quote the unregurgitated shite from the driver's handbook......".the hood is firmly attached to hood bows"...oh good, is that extra then?

Probably, and it's got two wheels, so he should be wearing a lid. Legally and to hide his embarrassment.

Not sure about that, as he's wearing a seatbelt. There's always been some debate about this helmet/seatbelt thing, seems to be a legal grey area. I remember asking a cop about this years ago, and he admitted he wasn't sure!

I would far rather ride a Honda Plack 90 Naked, save for my lid in the pouring rain than ride something like this.

1980 Ford Escort 1.3

Hey this is ace, look at the valance!

1980 Ford Escort 1.3L

A very different 1980 Escort, this is exactly how a MK2 Escort should look - steelies, square lamps, spartan interior and basic colour. I proper love them like this and would be absolutely delighted to own one. However since it's a 2-door I would have to commit some sort of mass fraud to afford the initial purchase price.

...and sadly you just know the Mk2 will shortly have the 'RS-4-spoke-2.1-pinto-capri-struts-'oldskoolford'-windscreen-sticker-flabby-arsed-braying-stella-guzzling-knobhead' treatment.

I believe the presently favoured expression is 'Ponzi scheme'...

Agree 10000%. However it's a bloody automatic, which means it has the larger transmission tunnel so sought after by the rally boys. I put the likelihood of this one retaining its current appearance into 2010 at about 4.3%.
