My school had a Commer minibus. That's dangerous enough in itself

Our scout group had a commer bus, followed by a transit with lovely sliding front doors (GR8 for summer camping trips). I think its mandatory for all scout / school minibuses to have galloping rust and holes in the floor and also all Transits to be powered by some woeful crappy petrol engine.

Mind you - given the abuse they suffer - This is me using ours to make a swing with one camping trip in France...

World's smallest schools?

The school I went to was the biggest in Scotland at the time, with over 2000 pupils it was probably one of the biggest in the UK, and we just had a Transit minibus as far as I know. When I was in the Scouts the standard method of transport was still the leaders' cars plus as many parents as they could rope in, which generally worked out at 7 or 8 per car. The first time I was in a car over 100mph was a parent's Chrysler Alpine with 8 children on board, two of whom were in the boot.

When I was a kid the transport to the sites for our cub and scout camps was a removals truck with all the gear in it, then all the cubs/scouts thrown in on top. Used to travel along with the top of the 'stable-door' at the back pinned open and all of us waving to the cars behind! Bloody mental when you think about it - but no-one batted an eyelid back then! It was a hoot!

My school had a Traffic minibus, the larger one than this. As I recall it was only a few years old but already rusting horrendously!

I remember some of this shape being badged as Vauxhalls, don't suppose many people were fooled though :?

How did you manage to find that out?

Googled the seller name that was given in the ad I expect.
..Not far off, I googled the phone number to see if it was for sale anywhere else/if the seller had anything else interesting on offer.
