Looking great that 420. Still need to scratch the Rover R8 200/400 itch.

I'd have a punt, particularly if a spare XUD was also available to add my collection of engines on pallets.

Better photo from the car show, not that it's a trailer queen, far from it.

*HANKER*

The photos of this (and its wheels) have reignited the yearning I used to have for my second ever car...

Whether you roffle or not, someone is going be mega-chuffed as a nightfire red R8 Rover is a sure sign you have massively won at life.

Did it start life on the DCZ plate or is that a later addition?

Cazana says the original reg is L534EOV. So it's removable.

how do we purrrr chase a ticket or 3??? I am bereft of paypal as I don't believe in Daylight Robbery.. but could do a Bank transfer thingy??

Posted

I know a great way round paypal's fees when it comes to using it, send cash as a 'gift' and job done, fees are a big fat zero

I don't think a roffle is actually on yet. I just unhelpfully dropped the idea into the thread.

It's likely it'll sell quickly without roffleness taking place, which is the optimum outcome for the OP.

Right I've had a look and have a few things to throw into this. Am using it daily, not so sure I want rid really. Especially as it went onto the classic multicar for just another £25

Took it to friendly MOT man today and let me come under in the pit, he said 'it good, it's not rusty', and it is pretty good, better than I expected. It will need plate each side of outer sill end - £100 all-in he said. Otherwise it will be in want of a tyre and typical rear silent bush, so not a write-off for a while yet

I have found out the GENUINE Rover roof rack, along with some other bits like Haynes manuals and spares

How about a Roffle for a tad more, but with additions into the box in the boot every day or so, like other past auctions? That way the garages/sheds get a clearance effort of sorts too, (win-win with the Missus and my sanity)

1994 Rover 420 SLi
T-SERIES 136bhp when new and does go well still. Very perky.
GSi Leather seats fitted. Matching door cards in the boot, not got round to it, used too much.
e/w e/s/r working, no issues.
Witter tow bar fitted.
No temperature issues even in the summer M1 standstill commute.
NI plate that is transferable/sellable and part of the reason asking for a tad more as I was going to retain it and put it on the BMW etc to hide the age which goes down well selling into Luton Gangblinger circles.
No water in oil.
No oil in water.
Bit of a miss evident on idle but not even done the plugs, it went well enough on the commute yesterday doing 90mph at 3800rpm as gearing much taller than the D and K series cars.
Oil leak but undertray fitted catching any drip.
Working heater and fan.
MOT mid-Dec.
Taxed and insured to get you home until next Friday.

ROFFLE for £7.50, which is fancy bicycle money?

Great, uh but I don't want to keep repeating the list....  Just howl if you want ticket or three and and I'll up date the top list of dreams in my post

Otherwise I can see confusions ahead.

Then there may be oil drops to shed.

So while there's nightfire and music and love and romance,
Let's face the Rover and dance

I have to say, the colour, engine and interior combination on this make me a very happy person.

Right, Day Two

Into the box/boot of this roffling car will be added:

Genuine Rover Roof Rails

Must find the key though.

oh yes please!

when young and even more foolish than i am now, i worked with a chap who had a white GSi turbo one of these as his company car.

it went like a stabbed rat, and i loved rolling around in it.

when it was replaced by a fuggin' aldi A4 i was DEVASTATED!

hence i'll take a couple of "randoms" though i would like what ever number Mr Ramrod would (will?) want cos he seems to ALWAYS win these!

Cheers all, top list now updated

Bump for this as I want to win it.

27% of tickets now taken.  Want another or two?

Mr Ramrod has deliberately chosen a number that's unlikely to win, simply because I don't want lynch mobs coming after me for winning* ALL the Roffles!

Day Three

Into the box goes a Fray Bentos chicken pie!

I said no pies

But that was lies

Enjoy.
