I approve off all this even if I don't understand it. Most excellent work and hugs to all involved.

New job starts soon so I might actually be able to contribute instead of just taking bollocks

Instead of offering a free car, raffle at £2.50 a ticket all proceeds to running costs.

To be fair now transparency on the costs is there I would be happy to chuck £100 in once a year to cover a months running costs whatever.

Not sure if im alone in thinking maybe Stanky and Slartibartfast should have a drink out of some of the money for taking a handle on this.

Edit - Scrap that I will donate £20 when I'm

Home at the weekend to be used just for that purpose

Not read all this but another forum I use has a member sponsor function, £5 min per year up to whatever you feel is appropriate, members get bigger message inbox and various other benefits, possibly discount from companies that advertise on the site (if you choose that route)

To be completely clear, I aim to cover costs as far as possible. The FundRazr page will be set up to close when the target is reached each month, and re-open the following month.

Just an idea, another forum I used to use kept the spare in a small slush fund for poor months & purchased several crates of beer at the annual piss up ( their version of shite fest).

This has just occurred to me after posting...Autoshite scholarships where an annual vote for most autoshite car (stuff like the sierra bASe) gets a donation to running costs?

Just like to say thanks for sorting this site out- it looked like I'd joined at closing time but it's looking like a lock-in!

Just donated! Keep up the good work.

Thanks, I plan to update the top post each month with the donations received by month and the 'operating' accounts. Nothing hardcore - just an update on donations - costs = slush fund. I aim to adjust subsequent month fundraisers accordingly but if we do get a surplus then I'd be open to ideas of how it should be spent to better the community. Be that polls for 'basket case of the month' or 'shitefest tea-fund' as members see fit.

I have no desire to profit from this, I just didn't want the great community here to disappear and had some funds and some know-how to allow it to continue to thrive.

can you please remove the option of hiding the amount donated please?

it makes me look like the only miser to have 'contributed'  :-D

We have developed a strong and stable foundation. This is to be applauded. With digital money. Well done and thank you to all concerned.

Can't we set Billy Cavcraft some sort of Shite to Riches sort of challenge where we give him a completely fucked Corsa and he then has to trade it up whilst keep making enough profit on each subsequent sale to pay for the site?

How very dare you sir! I have no one on ignore and never will!

Taking bollocks as much as you like following it up with a sarcastic comment or seven is the Autoshite way, well that and being special in an special way :-)

Is it OK to send some wonga in now even though you are in funds for this month, perhaps to build a contingency fund or to buy some beers, or to pay off any shortfall from Dave's time in charge? ( he shouldn't be left out of pocket).  If you would prefer that people wait until the next funding round, coolio.

A suggestion if I may, would it not be wise to keep the donations link live all the time? While target has been hit this month, when it comes to the next round people may not be as flush, forget, think it's running ok etc at least if a contingency is built up it could possibly give a few months grace, especially around Christmas time etc,

When we get to the 23rd June when this 'campaign' finishes I'll ask the masses whether they would like a funding target month-to-month (like this one) or a longer campaign (say for the next 5 months).

Have a think and let me know. Month to month means I can adjust the targets if (like this month) we overshoot the target, but involves more admin etc. I have no preference either way.

I don't think there's a problem building up a war chest. There may be unexpected problems down the road

Indeed. On the one hand, locking it means there are already a few of us lined up to donate next month, so keeps things flowing, but having a stash in reserve is probably a good idea too.

A slush fund is handy when a sudden need arises, such as the server having a FTP...

You just need to decide what a sensible amount to keep to hand is, I'd guess a years funding? should cover anything that arises out of the blue I'd have thought. Maybe invest it & pay us all dividends? :D

Such as a Tagora comes up on the bay for exactly the same amount of money in the kitty you mean?

Who in their right mind would advertise on Autoshite?

Isopon & K-Seal?

Kurust, welding equipment and rods, head gaskets, oil, veg, etc

I would like to donate but at mo can't. Surely extra in the coffers is good, for shite related erm shite. Beer at shitefest, shonky  vehicles etc. I would happily donate a fixed amount every month purely for the entertainment value, info, etc, and any extra at  the end of the year could be spent in a typical AS manner.

Maybe we could build up £1000, then at some pre determined date the top 5 hardcore shiters have to get together and collect a future AS bike from foreign-land? Complete with a top quality collection thread, get some shonky stickers made up and have the car attend all the shonky shows throughout the year? Dollywobbler can be the camera man, bollox with his a-frame, junkman skizzer and BV for the woolarding, bickle for his knowledge of dragging chod back from fuck knows where etc
