Can do a link as i'm on my phone but youtube "Journey around Burscough c1970 including HMS Ringtail" around 10 minutes in i live on the left at the bottom of the bridge.

I'm in my 30's so was one of the last generation to play on the still mostly complete airfield. All but the hangers have been cleared and built over now.

No pictures, just a bit of a tale. In Castle Donington lived Commander Dalby whose elderly wife used to potter own the main Borough street in the family P6. She used to simply double park it on the narrow, busy street and leave it whilst she did her shopping.

We used to have another nutty old girl called Valgene, she used to ride a step through moped thing with pedals, but because she had difficulty restarting it, (she lived at the top of a long hill), she would leave it running while shopping in her crash helmet. local lads used to nick it for a tnrash round the block, but generally brought it back!

Those were the days - late 70's early 80's

I think that pub in later years was the first I was thrown out of.

That looks well familiar, can you walk across that higher level?

Yes, it's our world famous 'rows'. Or toilets, as they're sometimes known at night :(

Upper Bridge Street, early-mid 70's at a guess

Some poncey wine bar on the left now (around where the Cortina is) and at the top of the picture (unseen) behind and next to the church are a couple of half decent watering holes.

Aberdoom railway station 1986. Some quality choice taxis including a Superfabbafiori 131 Lampredi Twin Cam 1600.

"Bridge of Don chief, no problem". 7000rpm, screeeeeeeeech, . . . . blur, . . . there.

Is that a Cressida on the left?

King's Lynn, 1980s, where I grew up.  Nobody at work suspects my secret Norfolk shame, they just think I've got a speech impediment.

Is that Ford building still standing?

Looks like Colin Malkin and Andrew Cowan have just popped in for a celebratory pint and dram after handing in their rally gear......

The old (shit) bus exchange behind the town hall closed today, ready to move to the new one on Monday. Someone bought an old Crosville double decker down...

John K's first attempt to park his Horizon at the Middlesbrough Museum of Mining resulted in a suboptimal outcome...

^ It happened at a china clay pit locally, back when the Horizon was nearly new I assume. I really wish I could have been a fly on the wall.
